Month-long Krishi Mahotsav concludes CM interacts with farmers via video conference

Krishi Mahotsav-2012 highlights

Announcing the conclusion of state’s month-long agricultural fest ‘Krishi Mahotsav’ today Chief Minister Narendra Modi said the Krishi Mahotsav has become instrumental in giving a boost to the agriculture sector of the nation and in attracting accolade for the state’s green revolution.

The Chief Minister was talking to the farmers via video conferencing. Throughout the Krishi Mahotsav the Chief Minister interacted with around one crore farmers of the state via video conference, which he used to held almost every evening.

Chief Minister announced that an assistance of worth Rs.720 crore has been given to around 15.17 lakh famers in 25 days during this eighth Krishi Mahotsav. Assistance for purchasing 11,000 tractors and 34,00 rotavators was also given to the farmers during Krishi Mahotsav.

Chief Minister credited the success of Krishi Mahotsav to the lakhs of hard-working farmers and the faith they put on the state government. He lauded the efforts of around one lakh government officials, agro-scientists and experts who visited 225 talukas and 4397 village clusters with 4400 Krishi Raths and acquainted the farmers with the scientific methods of farming. He also praised the marginal farmers and tribal women who initiated the task of seed production.

He said that this Krishi Mahotsav proved immensely beneficial as the state government linked it with the animal husbandry. Around 3.5 lakh soil specimens were tested in laboratory and 2.75 lakh soil health cards were given. In about 4175 cattle health fairs 40 lakh animals were vaccinated and around 4.5 lakh animals were given treatment for various diseases, he said.

Krishi Mahotsav has proved as the best convergence of planning and manpower, he said. He called upon farmers to cover entire Gujarat under drip irrigation method and yield a record-making produce in the country.

Chief Minister said the state government has undertaken a survey related to micronutrients in soil which will cover all the villages of the state. So, far the surveying work is on the verge of completion in around 9,000 villages, he added.

Mr.Modi exuded faith that this year too the monsoon will remain beneficial to the farmers and that they will get bumper production.

Prime Minister meets with Crown Prince of Kuwait

​Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met today with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait. Prime Minister fondly recalled his recent meeting with His Highness the Crown Prince on the margins of the UNGA session in September 2024.

Prime Minister conveyed that India attaches utmost importance to its bilateral relations with Kuwait. The leaders acknowledged that bilateral relations were progressing well and welcomed their elevation to a Strategic Partnership. They emphasized on close coordination between both sides in the UN and other multilateral fora. Prime Minister expressed confidence that India-GCC relations will be further strengthened under the Presidency of Kuwait.

⁠Prime Minister invited His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait to visit India at a mutually convenient date.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait hosted a banquet in honour of Prime Minister.
