Over 110 Officer Trainees of the 2016 batch of the Indian Police Service, today called on the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

Interacting with the Officer Trainees, the Prime Minister emphasized on the importance of subjects such as a human approach in policing; and technology. He recalled the sacrifices of over 33,000 police personnel, who have laid down their lives since independence, in line of duty.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today condoled the loss of lives due to the collapse of a wall in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.
