In a fruitful meet CM invites Chinese urban development experts to develop world-class eco-friendly cities in Gujarat based on the model of Shanghai port city

CM expresses interest in partnering with China in developing value-added castor agro industries

During his visit to China, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today held a meeting with Shanghai municipal government’s secretary Mr. Yu Zhengsheg.

In a fruitful meet Chief Minister discussed developing world-class eco-friendly cities in Gujarat based on the model of Shanghai port city and expressed interest in t aking help of Chinese experts in it. He also invited a delegation of China’s urban development experts to visit Gujarat in this regard.

Chief Minister expressed interest in partnering with China in developing value-added castor agro industries since Gujarat is producing world’s 80% of castor oil and China imports it largely from Gujarat. Chief Minister said that new benchmarks of partnership will be established between Shanghai and Gujarat.

Chief Minister discussed using Shanghai’s high-tech sea-water development construction technology in Kulpsar project in which world’s largest fresh water reservoir will be built in the bay of Khambhat in Gujarat.

Chief Minister also showed interest in taking help of China’s construction technology for building houses for the urban poor of Gujarat.

CM visits Shanghai General Motors’ manufacturing plant

Chief Minister today took visit of Shanghai General Motors’ manufacturing plant with his delegation.

He s aid that major au to companies of the world are setting up t heir plants in Gujarat and that the state is becoming auto hub of Asia. In the coming years Gujarat will be producing about 50 lakh cars annually which give a great boost to auto ancillary industries also.

He said the State is planning that car companies in Gujarat set up automobile training institutes and R&D centre for imparting technical skills of auto sector among the youths of Gujarat.

Invites Chinese banks for extending easy loans in low-cost housing project for urban poor in Gujarat

Expresses interest in partnering with Sichuan for R&D in disaster management field

Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday evening met Communist Party of China’s (CPC) secretary of Sichuan province Mr. Liu Quibao in Chengdu and discussed about developing partnership between Gujarat and Sichuan province in mutually beneficial areas.

Mr. Quibao, who also possesses a strong hold in CPC, welcomed the Chief Minister. He thanked Mr. Modi for extending generous help during the devastating earthquake which took place in Sichuan three years back.

Chief Minister expressed interest in establishing partnership between Gujarat and Sichuan for the research and development in disaster management field since both Gujarat and Sichuan falls in the category of earthquake-prone zones.

Chief Minister also expressed interest in using anti-quake house building technology developed by Sichuan for the construction of houses for poor in Gujarat.

Mr. Modi invited Chinese banks to come in Gujarat and offer loans on easy rates as the scheme for low-cost housing is taking place in Gujarat on a grand scale.

Mr. Quibao showed eagerness in partnering with the State in the field of information technology, telecom, and tourism and in the development of natural resources.

Mr.Quibao also hosted a special dinner for the Gujarat Chief Minister and his delegation.

Mahotsav aims to celebrate Rural India’s entrepreneurial spirit and cultural heritage

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 on 4th January, at around 10:30 AM, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Celebrating Rural India's entrepreneurial spirit and cultural heritage, the Mahotsav will be held from 4th to 9th January with the theme 'Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2047’ and motto “गांव बढ़े, तो देश बढ़े”.

The Mahotsav, through various discussions, workshops and masterclasses, aims to enhance rural infrastructure, create self-reliant economies, and foster innovation within rural communities. Its objectives include promoting economic stability and financial security among rural populations, with a special focus on North-East India, by addressing financial inclusion and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.

A significant focus of the Mahotsav will be to empower rural women through entrepreneurship; bring together government officials, thought leaders, rural entrepreneurs, artisans and stakeholders from diverse sectors to build a roadmap for collaborative and collective rural transformation; encourage discussions around leveraging technology and innovative practices to enhance rural livelihoods; and showcase India's rich cultural heritage through vibrant performances and exhibitions.
