Sindhi people have shown the world an excellent form of socio-economics by helping new entrepreneurs of their community: CM

Chief Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Sindhi people for demonstrating an excellent form of ‘socio-economics’ by financially supporting the budding entrepreneurs of their community. Chief Minister today launched an informative directory of Surat’s Sindhi community. On the occasion, Mr Modi also praised the community’s industrious nature.

Chief Minister recalled a tradition in Sindhi community in which the relatives and well-wishers anonymously give the start-up fund to the new entrepreneurs of the community. By carrying on this tradition the Sindhi community has put before the world an excellent form of socio-economics, he said.

Despite many odds the Sindhi community has achieved success with painstaking efforts and the younger generation should not forget it, he said.

Mr Modi pointed out that the directory should also include a field for email addresses in it as in the modern age Sindhi youth is also getting higher education contrary to the earlier times.

Leader of Surat’s Sindhi community Mr Shobhalalji gave an idol of Lord Jhulelal and expressed his community’s gratitude for the Chief Minister. State cabinet ministers Mr Mangubhai Patel, Narottam Patel, Ranjit Gilitwala, MPs C R Patil, Mrs Darshanaben Jardaush, Mayor Rajendra Desai and the people of Surat’s Sindhi community were present on the occasion.

November 21, 2024

Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
