During Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi spoke about Sardar Patel's invaluable contribution towards the country. He mentioned about the 'Statue of Unity', which would be a true homage to the great leader. The PM recalled about his meeting with sports persons who won medals at the Asian Para Games and Summer Olympics. PM Modi and Israeli PM Netanyahu visited Indian War Cemetery in Haifa, Israel. The leaders paid homage to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I to liberate Jerusalem.They also unveiled a plaque commemorating Major Dalpat Singh.
