ਆਪਣੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਦਾ ਸਿਖਰ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 140 ਕਰੋੜ ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਕਸਦ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ “ਦੇਸ਼ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਆਭਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਣੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ 'ਦੀਆ' ਜਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ “ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਤੈਨਾਤ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋ, ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ 30-35 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”PM's remarks at the UNSC High-Level Open Debate on “Enhancing Maritime Security: A Case For International Cooperation”
