On the morning of 4th October 2012 Shri Narendra Modi addressed Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra in parts of Dahod district. He addressed meetings in Limdi and Sukhsar. Shri Modi declared that the Congress is trying to cheat the people of Gujarat and that the people cannot forgive those who cheat them.

Shri Modi paid rich tributes to Swami Vivekananda and said that Swami ji called for service towards the Daridra Narayan and in the last decade that is what the Gujarat Government has done. He spoke at length about the development initiatives for the Tribal community of Gujarat especially the revolution that has come about in agriculture and animal rearing. Shri Modi recalled that earlier only corn was grown whereas now the Tribal farmers are growing a lot more and even cultivating flowers!

The Chief Minister highlighted how the Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana has given benefits of Rs. 40,000 crore to the Tribal community.

He spoke about the Tribal stretch from Umargam to Ambaji has been totally transformed over the last decade especially in giving more education opportunities to the Tribal community.

The Chief Minister recalled how the Congress promised to bring prices down in 100 days of assuming power but that has not happened. Also, the Congress promised 1 crore jobs to people in 2009 but even that has not happened. On the other hand, the Gujarat Government is standing as guarantor for youngsters if they want to start something new, he said.

On the visit of UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi to Rajkot last afternoon, Shri Modi affirmed that last time she had visited Chhota Udepur and spent lakhs of money for the rally but the Congress lost there. Similarly, Mrs. Gandhi visited Rajkot and the BJP will win all seats there. He said that Mrs. Gandhi’s speech contained nothing that is why only photographs of the speech were published by the newspapers and added that the Congress was afraid that the people would give them a fitting reply if they speak something odd in Gujarat!

Shri Modi expressed surprised over the inability of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi to say atleast something on the rising prices under the UPA rule. He came down heavily on the UPA for the record corruption in the coal scam.

He stated that the Tribal brothers and sisters would not forgive the Congress and affirmed that the BJP would get another opportunity to serve the people of Gujarat.

The Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra has received a wonderful response as people cutting across all communities and age groups turned up to support the Yatra and Shri Modi. Cabinet Minister Shri Fakirbhai Vaghela and other dignitaries joined Shri Modi during the Yatra.

Shri Modi speaks in an interview with English TV Channel

In an interview with an English TV channel while travelling during his Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra Shri Modi said that their sole agenda has been development.

He stated that 7 lakh families have benefited from the piped gas facility. Shri Modi said that he does not believe in ‘make or break’ philosophy and added that he works for Bharat Mata and will continue to do so. He said that he has the blessings 6 crore Gujaratis.

On the issue of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi’s travels, Shri Modi said that the issue is not her health but her travels for the last 3 years and that the issue has been widely covered by leading news agencies across India.

Answering a question on whether the Gujarat Elections are a semi-final of sorts, Shri Modi said that the media and political pundits see every thing as a semi final- they did the same in the February 2012 polls and will do the same in the states that go to poll in 2013.

CM speaks about rotting of grains under UPA rule

 

On 4th October 2012 Shri Modi addressed Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra in Modasa, Sabarkantha district. He urged the people not forgive the Congress, which has been continuously cheating the people.

The Chief Minister said that the Gujarat Government has spent Rs. 10,000 crore to give pipeline gas to the villages of Gujarat that can benefit 7 lakh villages that will save the Centre from Rs. 600 crore otherwise given in form of subsidies. In future it will go to 20 lakh households but the Centre has adopted the stand that this is an issue under their jurisdiction and not that of the state government and in process denied the people of Gujarat of something that would benefit them immensely. But, Shri Modi declared that he will continue his fight for the people come what may on this issue.

Shri Modi stated that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi seems to have forgotten about the rotting of the grains under the eyes of the Congress-led UPA.
