Smt. Anandiben Patel took oath as the first woman Chief Minister of Gujarat, on the afternoon of 22nd May, 2014. Smt. Anandiben was administered the oath by Gujarat Governor Smt. Kamla Beniwal, at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Shri Nitin Patel, Shri Ramanlal Vora, Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Shri Saurabh Patel, Shri Ganpatsinh Vasava and Shri Babu Bokhiria were the six ministers of the Cabinet rank who were sworn-in, along with 14 Ministers of State.

PM designate Shri Narendra Modi, BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh, Shri L K Advani, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Smt. Sushma Swaraj and Shri Subramanian Swamy were among the senior BJP leaders present on the occasion. Punjab Chief Minister Shri Parkash Singh Badal and BJP Chief Ministers Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh), Smt. Vasundhara Raje Scindia (Rajasthan) and Dr. Raman Singh (Chhattisgarh) were also present.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
