PM Modi’s impetus on fostering girl child’s education

An emphasis on daughter’s education has been a key plank on the agenda of facilitating “women empowerment” under PM Modi led government. A similar example can be discussed on the impetus that PM Modi provided on fostering girl child’s higher education even as a ‘Party Karyakarta’ in the 1990’s in Gujarat.


Falji Chaudhary, BJP Leader from Gujarat narrates an interesting incident involving PM Modi. In 1990, PM Modi had visited his village in Sisrana in Gujarat for lunch. During the course of lunch, Chaudhary introduced his family members where almost all of them mentioned that they were graduates in various disciplines.


PM Modi then enquired about Chaudhary’s younger sister Nainaben as to what was her qualification. To this Nainaben replied that she had passed the tenth grade, to which PM Modi replied in a jovial tone that she must ‘agitate to study further and must persuade her father to let her pursue higher education’.


Chaudhary further adds that even as a ‘Party Karyakarta’ PM Modi had envisioned the higher education of all women in aiding the process of growth and development of India. The moment PM Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat he implemented girl child education in mission mode.


Often in large public rallies, PM Modi would make speeches where he would say that as a “bhikshuk (mendicant) I seek the education of our daughters”, showcasing his firm belief in fostering education among girls and women.


This incident showcases PM Modi’s firm resolve in promoting the education of girl child for a prosperous family and prosperous India.

A heart-touching letter from PM Modi

For Divyang artist Diya Gosai, a moment of creativity turned into a life-changing experience. During PM Modi’s Vadodara roadshow on October 29th, she presented her sketches of him and H.E. Mr. Pedro Sánchez, the President of the Government of Spain. Both leaders stepped out to personally accept her heartfelt gift, leaving her overjoyed.

Weeks later, on November 6th, Diya received a letter from the PM praising her artwork and sharing how even H.E. Mr. Sánchez admired it. PM Modi encouraged her to pursue fine arts with dedication, expressing faith in the youth’s role in building a "Viksit Bharat." Thank you, Modi Ji, for giving me your love and blessings," said Diya, adding that receiving the letter from the PM deeply inspired her to take bold actions in life and empower others to do the same.
