The campaigning in Gujarat has gained momentum as PM Modi has addressed public meetings in Gujarat’s Mehsana, Dahod, Vadodara and Bhavnagar. Slamming the Congress party, the PM said, “The Congress model means corruption, nepotism, dynastic politics, sectarianism and casteism. They are known for indulging in vote bank politics and creating rifts between people to be in power. This model has not only destroyed Gujarat but India too. That is the reason why we have to work hard to take the country ahead today.”

Canvassing for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Mehsana, the prime minister asserted that our government has made great efforts to address the state's water and electricity woes, which used to be the permanent issues of the opposition to corner the government. “Twenty years ago there were very few women in the dairy sector. Today this participation has increased a lot. The development that has taken place in the dairy sector in Gujarat has also helped in tackling the challenge of malnutrition,” he further added.

Campaigning his second rally in Dahod, PM Modi took a swipe at Congress for being oblivious to tribals for a long time. He said, “A very large tribal society lives in the country.

After independence, the tribal community provided the Congress with numerous chances. But the tribal society received little attention from the Congress. In the 75 years of independence, the country's desire was that the President should be a tribal in the country. But the BJP made the first President of the country from tribal community that too a woman. They fielded candidate against a tribal sister and tried best to defeat her.

Addressing the massive rally in Dahod, Prime Minister Modi said, “There are now 5 medical colleges in the tribal belt of Gujarat, one of which is also in Dahod. 20 years ago, the number of higher secondary schools in Dahod was around 50. Now their number has increased to more than 250. Dahod now has a nursing college as well as an engineering college.”

With all these efforts, lakhs of youth of this region, of Gujarat, will get new employment opportunities.”

The students passing out from this Gatishakti University are going to be a huge asset for the whole world.” He also talked about the redevelopment of the Pavagadh temple and said that after the facilities have improved, the number of devotees visiting the temple has increased by 5 to 6 times.
