NDA’s priority is the welfare of the small farmers: PM Modi in Tamil Nadu

In his first rally in the state of Tamil Nadu before assembly elections, PM Modi addressed a huge gathering in Dharapuram. “India takes great pride in the culture of Tamil Nadu. One of the happiest moments of my life was when I got a chance to speak a few words in the oldest language in the world, Tamil, at the United Nations,” he said.

Attacking the DMK and Congress, PM Modi said, “On one hand, NDA has our development agenda. On the other hand, the Congress and DMK have their own dynasty agenda. The speeches of their leaders have nothing positive to offer. They hardly talk about their own vision or work. All they do is demean others and spread lies.”

Taking a jibe at the UPA’s scam, the Prime Minister remarked, “These days Congress and DMK have launched their outdated 2-G missile. This 2-G missile has one clear target- the women of Tamil Nadu.
A few days back, this Missile was launched by UPA with a clear order- to attack the Nari Shakti of Tamil Nadu.”

“Inspired by the ideals of MGR and Amma Jayalalithaa Ji, we want to empower the farmers, poor, youngsters and women of Tamil Nadu. We want to boost connectivity and create opportunities here. A vote for NDA is a vote to solve long standing issues. A prime example is the way the decades old demand of the Devendra Kula Vellalar community was solved by our alliance,” he said while addressing the rally in Tamil Nadu.

Slamming DMK leader’s inappropriate remarks on women, PM Modi remarked, “Sadly, to insult women is a part of the Congress-DMK culture. A few days back, one of the MLA candidates of DMK Mister Dindigul Leoni made horrible remarks on women. DMK has done nothing to stop him. The young crown prince of DMK, who has sidelined many senior DMK leaders, he too made horrible remarks. DMK has done nothing to stop him.”

The Prime Minister emphasized on 25th March 1989 incidence, he said, “In the Assembly of Tamil Nadu, how did DMK leaders treat Amma Jayalalithaa Ji? DMK and Congress will not guarantee women empowerment. In their rule, crimes against women are up. We in the NDA are inspired by the thoughts and ideals of the great Andal and Avvaiyar. We believe that the progress of society is not complete without empowerment of women. That is why, all our schemes are aimed at strengthening our Nari Shakti.”

“Yesterday, an elderly lady Shova Majumdar lost her life in West Bengal. We saw with horror how goons belonging to TMC brutally attacked her just because her ideology was different. This has been in news for a long time. Did Congress show any empathy? Did DMK and Left condemn it,” he added.

Also, PM Modi talked about NDA’s developmental agenda, he asserted, “NDA’s priority is the welfare of the small farmer. Our Government has initiated reforms that will free the small farmers from the pressures of middlemen. Measures such as Soil Health Card, Kisan Credit Cards, e-NAM scheme are aimed at empowering farmers.”

“Guided by the Mantra of Per Drop, More Crop, we are helping farmers transform their cultivation methods. Old irrigation structures are being repaired. New ones are being built. The Government of India has launched Jal Jeevan Mission. The aim is to provide water to all household,” he said while urging everyone to vote for the NDA in upcoming elections.

PM Modi addresses the Parliament of Guyana
November 21, 2024

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the National Assembly of the Parliament of Guyana today. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to do so. A special session of the Parliament was convened by Hon’ble Speaker Mr. Manzoor Nadir for the address.

In his address, Prime Minister recalled the longstanding historical ties between India and Guyana. He thanked the Guyanese people for the highest Honor of the country bestowed on him. He noted that in spite of the geographical distance between India and Guyana, shared heritage and democracy brought the two nations close together. Underlining the shared democratic ethos and common human-centric approach of the two countries, he noted that these values helped them to progress on an inclusive path.

Prime Minister noted that India’s mantra of ‘Humanity First’ inspires it to amplify the voice of the Global South, including at the recent G-20 Summit in Brazil. India, he further noted, wants to serve humanity as VIshwabandhu, a friend to the world, and this seminal thought has shaped its approach towards the global community where it gives equal importance to all nations-big or small.

Prime Minister called for giving primacy to women-led development to bring greater global progress and prosperity. He urged for greater exchanges between the two countries in the field of education and innovation so that the potential of the youth could be fully realized. Conveying India’s steadfast support to the Caribbean region, he thanked President Ali for hosting the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit. Underscoring India’s deep commitment to further strengthening India-Guyana historical ties, he stated that Guyana could become the bridge of opportunities between India and the Latin American continent. He concluded his address by quoting the great son of Guyana Mr. Chhedi Jagan who had said, "We have to learn from the past and improve our present and prepare a strong foundation for the future.” He invited Guyanese Parliamentarians to visit India.
