Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is purely for the farmers & their welfare: PM Modi in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with tea plantation workers in Moran, Assam. At a public meeting, PM Narendra Modi said that Assam was known over the world not only for its tea but also for the hard work and dedication that people put into their work.

He noted the fact that tea cultivators of Assam spent generations and made India proud through their work but the state did not flourish as the government did not work for uplifting the labourers and the poor. He urged the people of Assam to elect a BJP Government that would fulfil the aspirations of poor in the state. “Give an opportunity to the BJP and we will make Assam the Number 1 state”, said the Prime Minister. Shri Narendra Modi said there could be no politics when it comes to people’s welfare. He mentioned that the pride of Assam and well-being of the state’s youth was most important for his Government.

The Prime Minister noted that crores of rupees for welfare of the poor were lying idle in the Government treasury. He said that his Government was dedicated to welfare of the labourers and hence created a law for bonus to labourers but the opposition was not determined to let things work.

Taking a dig at the Congress party, the PM said, “Those who have been defeated and reduced to around 40 seats are determined to not let things work. There are leaders and parties that don't support the BJP still they want Parliament to work. But one party does not want that to happen.” The Prime Minister added that a bill on National Waterways was passed in the Lok Sabha that would benefit Assam but was stuck in the Rajya Sabha.

PM Narendra Modi talked about the newly launched Fasal Bima Yojana. He said that the initiative was purely for the welfare of farmers. He added that the entire world now reposed faith in India and was enthusiastic about the country.
