PM Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Beginning his address, the PM mentioned about the rail accident in Kanpur and said that it was unfortunate. “Relief work is going on in full swing. Centre will also investigate the matter. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I wish those injured a speedy recovery”, he added.

PM Modi spoke about various development initiatives launched today. Shri Modi said that NDA Government has initiated several steps for the welfare of people across the country. He said that the Centre is committed to provide homes to people by the time India celebrates 75th year of independence. Shri Modi said, “We want every Indian to have a house by 2022 when India celebrates 75 years since attaining freedom. When we are undertaking this initiative to build houses, it also means so many people get employment.”

PM Modi also unveiled railway projects that would boost railway infrastructure and employment.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted how Ujjwala Yojana is benefitting people in rural areas by making those areas smoke-free. He also took note of the progress made in rural electrification. “Years after Independence so many villages lack access to electricity. We are working to change that”, he added.

Speaking about demonetization of high value currency notes, PM Narendra Modi said that the decision taken by the Government on currency notes is in the interest of the poor and the middle class. He said that the move would benefit the honest citizens of the country. Shri Modi said, “This decision on currency notes was not taken to trouble anyone. This decision was taken for safeguarding the honest people’s interest. It was taken to secure the future of our youth. But a few people whose money is stuck in chit fund scams and those supporting them are feeling the heat.”

Shri Narendra Modi remarked that five hundred and thousand rupee notes ceasing to be legal tender has adversely affected those in fake currency rackets and narcotics. “Withdrawal of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes have choked funding of terror groups”, he added further. PM Modi urged citizens to cooperate and follow the guidelines set by the banks. Shri Modi said that NDA Government at Centre is dedicated to overall development of the country.

Several party karyakartas and Union Ministers were present during the public meeting.

MoU between India and Kuwait on Cooperation in the field of Defence.

This MoU will institutionalize bilateral cooperation in the area of defence. Key areas of cooperation include training, exchange of personnel and experts, joint exercises, cooperation in defence industry, supply of defence equipment, and collaboration in research and development, among others.

Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) between India and Kuwait for the years 2025-2029.

The CEP will facilitate greater cultural exchanges in art, music, dance, literature and theatre, cooperation in preservation of cultural heritage, research and development in the area of culture and organizing of festivals.

Executive Programme (EP) for Cooperation in the Field of Sports
(2025-2028)

The Executive Programme will strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of sports between India and Kuwait by promoting exchange of visits of sports leaders for experience sharing, participation in programs and projects in the field of sports, exchange of expertise in sports medicine, sports management, sports media, sports science, among others.

Kuwait’s membership of International Solar Alliance (ISA).

 

The International Solar Alliance collectively covers the deployment of solar energy and addresses key common challenges to the scaling up of use of solar energy to help member countries develop low-carbon growth trajectories.
