We are moving forward with a vision of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022 and have taken historic decisions in that direction: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Rajahmundry in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh today.

Prime Minister Modi began his address by applauding the honest taxpayers of Andhra Pradesh who contributed in ensuring access to crucial social security schemes to the farmers of the state and also accelerated the development and completion of major infrastructural projects in Andhra. He added, “The NDA government at the Centre is working tirelessly to ensure rapid development of Andhra Pradesh through highway, railway and airway projects that will strengthen the local economy.”

Taking on the Congress and its allies, including the state incumbent TDP for not doing enough for the people of Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi said, “Polavaram Project stands as a shining example of the way these ‘Maha-milawati’ people work. This project has been lying incomplete for the last four decades. But the NDA understands the significance of this project for the local economy and its people and that is why we declared this project as a Project of National Importance in our first Cabinet meeting since taking over. The TDP government here has received about 7,000 crores from the Centre for this project. However, the state government led by U-turn babu (CM Chandrababu Naidu) have been using delaying tactics to increase the costs of the project and using it as an ATM to squeeze money from the Centre.”

On the other hand, PM Modi said, that the BJP-led NDA government is taking all the necessary steps to ensure financial security for our farmers. He explained, “We are moving forward with a vision of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022 and have taken historic decisions in that direction. Not only this, we are also empowering the poor people of our country by giving them corruption-free access to various social security benefits. We believe in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and practically implement it too.”

Concluding his address to the huge crowd of supporters, PM Modi asked his supporters to vote for the BJP in the upcoming elections in order to boost the development of Andhra Pradesh, which has consistently been let down by other parties such as TDP, Congress or YSRCP and asserted that only a stable, strong and transparent BJP government can fulfill the aspirations of the people to build a ‘New Andhra Pradesh’ in the 21st century.

He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives.

“Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji and I interacted regularly when he was PM and I was the CM of Gujarat. We would have extensive deliberations on various subjects relating to governance. His wisdom and humility were always visible.
