I am certain that Odisha will undergo major change in the upcoming elections and will create history similar to what UP did in 2017 and Tripura in 2018: PM Modi in Kalahandi
The BJD and Congress have always considered the poor their vote-bank and thus never genuinely worked to empower the poor and bring them out of poverty: Prime Minister Modi
Only a stable, strong and decisive BJP government in Odisha and the Centre can understand and fulfill the aspirations of the people who want their state to progress at par with other states: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge public meeting in Kalahandi in Odisha today.

Speaking at the rally, PM Modi highlighted the numerous works done by his government for the people of Odisha during the last five years including providing homes to more than 8 lakh families as well as providing electricity connections to nearly 24 lakh households amongst many others. He said, “About 3,000 villages in Odisha got electricity for the first time since independence whereas about 40 lakh women of Odisha received gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana. These and other transformative measures were made possible by every vote cast in the favour of the BJP in 2014. This is the power of your vote.”

Prime Minister Modi also spoke at length about the transformation of governance in the country since the NDA assumed power in 2014 and added that transparency is a crucial element of the governance strategy of the BJP-led NDA governments and that is what significantly differs them from corrupt, dynastic parties like the Congress. Describing how his government has worked towards empowering the farmer and tribal communities, PM Modi said, “We have allocated 30% more funds this year for tribal welfare while also ensuring better prices for the tribal produce through the Van-Dhan Yojana. Similarly, we have increased the number of crops under MSP from 10 to almost 50 and have also amended the Bamboo law to allow farmers to grow bamboo on their land to supplement their incomes.”

Expressing confidence over growing support for the BJP in Odisha, Prime Minister Modi asserted, “I am certain that Odisha will undergo major change in the upcoming elections and will create history similar to what UP did in 2017 and Tripura in 2018. I say this because I can feel that the people of Odisha are fed up of the ill-governance of the BJD and other parties like the Congress, who have time and again deceived the people election after election. The BJD and Congress have always considered the poor their vote-bank and thus never genuinely worked to empower the poor and bring them out of poverty.”

He further added, “It is quite ironic that former Congress Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi gave his famous statement about the endemic corruption in the country from this city of Kalahandi itself. He had famously said that out of every rupee given by the central government for welfare schemes, only 15 paise of it actually reaches the people. This statement clearly describes the prevalent corruption during the Congress tenure that perpetuated this cycle of poverty.”

Concluding his power-packed address to the supporters, PM Modi asked them to vote in large numbers to support the BJP and encourage others to do the same. He reminded them that only a stable, strong and decisive BJP government in Odisha and the Centre can understand and fulfill the aspirations of the people who want their state to progress at par with other states while maintaining its rich cultural heritage.
