Continuing his election campaigning spree, PM Modi addressed a rally in Jharkhand's Barhait district. He said, “Here is only one voice in the state - 'Jharkhad pukara BJP dobara'. This voice has strengthened because Lotus has ensured development in the state. When Lotus blossoms youth, women, old, tribals, the backward areas are benefitted.”

Saluting the tribal heroes of the state, PM Modi said, “India should always remember the contribution of the tribal heroes in India's freedom struggle, in the creation of India. It is our wish that generations to come be inspired by it.”

PM Modi talked about the several central schemes which are benefiting the people of Jharkhand at large. He said, “Ever since the BJP, the NDA government formed in the centre, since then we have worked only in the interest of every class and every sect.”

“In past five years, almost 8 crore free gas connections have been given to the women of the state under Ujjwala Yojana. More than 67 lakh poor families of the entire country and more than 2 lakh poor families of Jharkhand have got free treatment under Ayushman Bharat,” he added further more.

Citing the Citizenship Amendment Act as a humanitatrian gesture, PM Modi at a poll rally in Jharkhand assured the people that people of no religion will face any threat under this act. "I have said this before and I say it again, CAA will have no affect on the citizenship of any person of any religion."

Accusing the Congress of spreading lies, PM Modi added, "They are spreading lies, they are spreading violence. Congress is instigating Muslims for political gains." He blamed the Congress and its allies of raising a storm over citizenship law and asserted that the opposition parties were behind the unrest and arson in parts of the country.

Prime Minister Modi launched his poll blitz in Jharkhand by daring the opposition parties to accept his challenge. He said, “I challenge Congress and their allies if they have the guts they should openly declare that they will give Indian citizenship to every Pakistani citizen, that they will bring back Article 370 in Jammu-Kashmir & Ladakh and that they will abolish Triple Talaq law.”

Speaking about the violent protests at Jamia University, PM Modi appealed to the students to not get played in the hands of Congress. He said, "You should understand your importance and your institutions. Government decisions should be discussed and should raise their voice in a democratic manner, our government understands your concerns. I appeal to youth in colleges to debate our policies, protest democratically.”

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
