On the morning of 31st March, Shri Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, and urged the people to make India free from the Congress’s misrule. Shri Modi also came down heavily upon the culture of horse-trading propagated by the Congress and called for the need to end it for the Nation’s progress.

Attacking the Congress’ shameless and insensitive approach at dealing with the emotions of the people, Shri Modi questioned Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s unkind words during her address in the Northeast, where she did not bother to express grief over the killing of the North-eastern student Nido Taniam in Delhi. He stated that Smt. Sonia Gandhi, who questions the Opposition on their patriotism stance, should instead reply on how the Italian marines who killed Indian fishermen were allowed to leave. “Please don't question the Desh bhakti of people. We don't need certificates from you. When Italian marines killed our fishermen who in Delhi allowed the marines to leave Delhi. Who gave them that chance? It was Hon'ble SC who got involved. Had it not asked for answers then the marines wouldn't have returned. Please tell us in what jail are marines? They should be in jail but where are they please tell us,” said Shri Modi.

Referring to the culture of horse-trading propagated by the Congress, Shri Modi said, “You are in power here too. Games of buying MLAs is on. You need to answer. We have heard of ‘Sabzi Mandi’, but here we see the ‘Mandi of MLAs’. These games must end because till these games go on the future of Arunachal's youth cannot change.”

Condemning the Congress’ pointless argument of questioning Gujarat’s model of development, Shri Modi reminded them that Elections 2014 was about the Parliament and hence required the Congress Party to give an account of the work done by them. He spoke of how the Congress indulged in playing tactics and sweeping off the Nation’s assets, to the extent of robbing the poor of their much-deserved money, and demanded an answer from them for not addressing the grave concerns. “Arrogance of Congress is sky high and so they don't answer. Forget their answers, Congress is asking us the questions. You ruin the nation and then you ask us! We need to understand these games of the Congress,” said Shri Modi.

Terming the Congress’ Manifesto as ‘Dhokha Patra’ Shri Modi stated that the people of India knew everything and had now exposed to the false promises of the Congress. He urged the people to sever ties with all those who had betrayed them, and urged them to vote for BJP in 2014 elections. Shri Modi recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s call for the disbanding of the Congress after freedom, and stated that while the Congress did not believe Bapu, the Nation will ensure that Bapu's dream is fulfilled.

November 24, 2024
PM to launch UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025
Theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 and launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 on 25th November at around 3 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

ICA Global Cooperative Conference and ICA General Assembly is being organised in India for the first time in the 130 year long history of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), the premier body for the Global Cooperative movement. The Global Conference, hosted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), in collaboration with ICA and Government of India, and Indian Cooperatives AMUL and KRIBHCO will be held from 25th to 30th November.

The theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation). The event will feature discussions, panel sessions, and workshops, addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by cooperatives worldwide in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister will launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, which will focus on the theme, “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” underscoring the transformative role cooperatives play in promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. The UN SDGs recognize cooperatives as crucial drivers of sustainable development, particularly in reducing inequality, promoting decent work, and alleviating poverty. The year 2025 will be a global initiative aimed at showcasing the power of cooperative enterprises in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.

Prime Minister will also launch a commemorative postal stamp, symbolising India’s commitment to the cooperative movement. The stamp showcases a lotus, symbolising peace, strength, resilience, and growth, reflecting the cooperative values of sustainability and community development. The five petals of the lotus represent the five elements of nature (Panchatatva), highlighting cooperatives' commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The design also incorporates sectors like agriculture, dairy, fisheries, consumer cooperatives, and housing, with a drone symbolising the role of modern technology in agriculture.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji His Excellency Manoa Kamikamica and around 3,000 delegates from over 100 countries will also be present.
