With the blessings of Ma Kali, Shri Narendra Modi addressed a large public gathering marking the conclusion of his month long Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra. Shri Modi asked the people to pledge that they will not give Gujarat to the Congress! He spoke about the advances Gujarat has made in correcting the adverse gender ratio among other things.

Shri Modi said that he has come to the land of Ma Kali not to ask anything for himself but for the 6 crore people of Gujarat. He sought the blessings of Ma Kali that there is no drought or natural disaster in Gujarat and that there is health and education for all.

Shri Modi said that he took a lot of time to wash the sins of the previous Governments and wondered why the preceding Congress Governments never thought of constructing adequate toilets in schools. Similarly the Congress played politics over reservation but they never bothered to create facilities to study science at the school level for Tribal children in the stretch from Umargam to Ambaji.

He recalled that it was on this land that former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam dedicated 24/7 electricity for Gujarat’s villages to the nation. That time, Late Pandit Naval Kishore Sharma who served as the state’s Governor was also present.

Shri Modi said that every nation showcases one developed part to the world like China does in case of Shanghai or Japan does for Tokyo but affirmed that had our Prime Minister considered Gujarat its own he could have showcased it to people but that has not happened. He further added that in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 120 nations came to Gujarat but has this ever happened in Delhi? He asked the PM why he does not treat Gujarat as a part of India.

He concluded his speech by asking the people to take a pledge that just like Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi said “Meri Jhansi Nahi Doongi” (I will not give my Jhansi), they should affirm “Nahi Denge, Nahi Denge, Humara Gujarat Nahi Denge!” The entire gathering took this pledge!

The programme was attended by a galaxy of top leaders from the BJP. BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari addressed the gathering and lauded the development work under Shri Modi. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Goa Chief Minister Shri. Manohar Parrikar spoke on the occasion. Other present included National BJP Vice President Shri Purushottam Rupala, Shri Om Mathur, Shri Balbir Punj and Smt. Smriti Irani.
