On Tuesday 16th July 2013 Shri Narendra Modi travelled to Odisha. Shri Modi offered prayers at the Jagannath Temple in Puri and he also prayed at Gundicha Temple in Puri. He affirmed that Odisha and Gujarat have a strong bond in various areas. Shri Modi met Gajpati Maharaj, the Chairman of the Jagannath Temple in Puri. In Puri he met Jagatguru Shankracharya Swami Nisschlanda. He offered prayers for all those who lost their lives during the Uttarakhand floods.

Talking to the media on the sidelines of his visit to Puri, Shri Modi said that he sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath for the prosperity of our nation. Speaking in both Oriya and Hindi, Shri Modi stated that he has come from the land of Somnath to the land of Jagannath to seek His blessings. The Chief Minister shared that Lord Jagannath has always blessed Gujarat and its people.

Shri Modi stated that the people of Odisha have an immense contribution in the development of Gujarat. He pointed that there would be no district or Tehsil of Odisha whose people are not working in Gujarat. He went on to say that both Odisha and Gujarat are coastal states and both of them are blessed with the magnificent sun temples of Konark and Modhera.

Earlier in the day, he was warmly received by BJP leaders at Bhubaneswar airport and he travelled to Puri by road, during which he offered tributes to Panchsakhas at Sakhagopal.  BJP leader Dr. Chandan Mitra, who accompanied Shri Modi Tweeted in the morning, On way to Puri accompanying Narendra Modiji to seek blessings of Prabhu Jagannath. Seems whole of Bhubaneswar is on the road to greet him.

ओडिशा र भाई  ओ भोउणी मानंकू पवित्र रथजात्रा अवसर रे नमस्कार ।

आजी पुरी धाम रे महाप्रभु जगन्नाथंक दर्शन करी मु नीज कू धन्य मने करूछी ।

मु सोमनाथंकर माटीरू आसी, महाप्रभु जगन्‍नाथंक माटी रे पहंचीछी।

गुजुराट र अर्थनैतिक प्रगति रे ओडिशा र मानव संबल ओ एहा र योगदानकू मु सम्‍मान कुरूछी।

महाप्रभु जगन्नाथ देश एवं देशवासिंकर मंगल करंतु ।

PM to participate in ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ on 24 November

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ programme on 24 November at around 5:30 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Odisha Parba is a flagship event conducted by Odia Samaj, a trust in New Delhi. Through it, they have been engaged in providing valuable support towards preservation and promotion of Odia heritage. Continuing with the tradition, this year Odisha Parba is being organised from 22nd to 24th November. It will showcase the rich heritage of Odisha displaying colourful cultural forms and will exhibit the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the State. A National Seminar or Conclave led by prominent experts and distinguished professionals across various domains will also be conducted.
