Gujarat Chief Minister at Brahmins’ Mahasammelan at Surat 

“My responsibility as a ruler is to preserve high social traditions and protect the public values from predators,” says Narendra Modi

 

Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said that his responsibility as a ruler of a state is to preserve the high traditions of the society and save thepublic values from the predators.

Addressing a Brahmins’ convention at Surat, he said, “I have embarked on a yajna, my job is to carry forward ‘Sadbhavna Mission’, taking everybody along for collective growth, and not to down play anybody but to contribute to the nation’s welfare.”

“While India’s knowledge-based society has withstood the test of time, others engaged in armsracehave met theirend, sooner or later. There is perhaps needtowageawaragainst untruth andinjustice, against those who seemed to be bent on finishing the   Brahmin cult and knowledge-based traditions,” he said.

Mr. Modi lauded the initiative of  Brahmins of south Gujarat to invite their counter parts from other parts of India settled in Surat at this convention held on the auspicious occasion of  ‘Akshay Tritiya’ and Parashuram Jayanti.

Describing six-crore Gujaratis as ‘
Brahmatej saman Bhudev Parivar’, he said that no society could produce achievers unless they are proud of their traditions. Brahmins have preserved the knowledge as enshrine in Vedas.

Talking about Gujarat Government’s contribution to the cause, the Chief Minister said that a Sanskrit University has been set up in the state to re-establish the importance of seers and saints in the society. The efforts have resulted in one lakhy outhbeing able to speak in Sanskrit. This serves as an Institute of  Temple Management, teaching ancient Vedas to Temple Management.

Earlier, inaugurating the convention, Mr. Ramesh Oza saidthat Brahmins’duty is to constantly keep a close watch on the society, show the righteous path to everybody and ensure no harm is done to anybody.

Mr. Praful Shukla that no man in Brahmin by birth, but his works. He described Mr. Narendra Modi as a ‘Vikas Purush’ deservedly presiding over the Brahmins’ convention.

Mr. Rajesh Joshi introduced a resolution to name Surat as ‘Parshuram Dham’.

The convention’s chief Mr. Rajubhai Joshi delivered the welcome address and Mr. Yajurvendraji Dubey proposed a vote of thanks.

Those present on the occasion included Tribal Welfare Minister Mangubhai Patel, Panchayat Minister Narottam Patel,Minister of State Ranjit Gilitwala, MPs C. R. Patil, Darshana Jardosh and Pravin Naik, MLAs Kishor Vankawala, Nanubhai Vanani and Kanubhai Joshi, Mayor Rajendra Desai and Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari.

Under Rozgar Mela, PM to distribute more than 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed recruits

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will distribute more than 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed recruits on 23rd December at around 10:30 AM through video conferencing. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation. It will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their participation in nation building and self empowerment.

Rozgar Mela will be held at 45 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place for various Ministries and Departments of the Central Government. The new recruits, selected from across the country will be joining various Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, among others.
