"Narendra Modi appeals to the voters to elect Kirron Kher and reject the corrupt Congress"
"UPA has become a burden for the nation and the people of India have understood that: Narendra Modi"

On the evening of Saturday 29th March 2014 Shri Narendra Modi addressed a large public meeting in Chandigarh. Shri Modi made a strong pitch to the voters of Chandigarh to elect Smt. Kirron Kher as their MP and defeat the corrupt ways of the Congress, which have been exposed after former Minister Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal has been given the ticket. “Chandigarh Ko Vikas Ki Kiran Chaiye, Na Ki Bhrashtachar Ka Pawan” (Chandigarh requires the rays of progress, not the winds of corruption) he affirmed. On the mood of the nation, Shri Modi affirmed that the mood was clear and that the nation has understood what a big burden the UPA has become.

Shri Modi said that coming to Chandigarh is like coming back to his own home, recalling the years he spent in Chandigarh when he was doing Party work in the 1990s. He raised issues pertaining to the ex-servicemen and took on the Congress for playing politics on the issue of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ for the servicemen. Shri Modi stressed on the importance of good governance for giving the youth of India a sound future. He talked about how technology can play a positive role in mitigating corruption, giving examples from his experience in Gujarat.

Taking on the UPA for giving a ticket to Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Shri Modi question why he was removed from the Ministry and if he was removed why was he given a ticket? “Corruption is a part of the Congress and a Congress Mukt Bharat is the way ahead for achieving a corruption free India,” pointed Shri Modi.

Shri Modi shared that vested interest groups have joined hands to prevent the NDA from coming to power and added that the Congress is wondering how can a tea-seller from a humble background challenge their might.

Deputy CM of Punjab Shri Sukhbir Singh Badal was present on the occasion. Others present include Smt. Kirron Kher, Shri Satya Pal Jain, Smt. AartiMehra among others.
