Addressing massive rallies at Nuapada, Balangir and Rourkela in Odisha, on the afternoon of 4th April, Shri Narendra Modi condemned the dynastic and destructive politics of the Congress and appealed to the people to give chance to a ‘sevak’ to serve the country.
Reinstating how the 2014 Elections were about the people’s voice of bringing a change and punishing those who have ruined the Nation, Shri Modi affirmed of the Congress’ and BJD’s wipe out and said, “Naveen Babu has been in power for almost 15 years. What has Odisha got? Naveen Babu, your days in power are numbered. Shahzade ji, Madam Sonia ji, the direction of the wind is clear.”
Attacking the dynastic politics of the Congress and stating the destructive impact it has had on the democratic fabric of the country, Shri Modi spoke of how the Elections 2014 was about a fight between leaders with affluent political lineage on one hand and the son of a tea-seller who wished to serve the country on the other. “This is a democracy and dynasty is the biggest enemy of a democracy,” affirmed Shri Modi.
Urging the people not to trust the false promises of the Congress, Shri Modi cited many instances of their misdeeds that had disrupted the social and cultural identity of India. The Congress’ hesitancy in addressing the serious issues of price rise, corruption, unemployment, poverty, safety and security of farmers and women, was clearly put forth by Shri Modi when he spoke of how youth from Odisha had to go to other states for job opportunities, despite the fact that the State had rich mineral resources. The vast yet untapped potential of port-led development and handicrafts-related prospects in Odisha was also stressed upon Shri Modi, who further stated how the State and Central government were least bothered of tapping the tourism and development prospects of the region.
He also spoke of the insecurity under which women in the country were living, and stated how Funds like the Nirbhaya Fund created by the Centre, lay unused. This, Shri Modi said, was among the many attempts of the Congress to fool the Nation. Questioning Smt. Sonia Gandhi over the recent National Crime records which had 7 Congress-ruled states amongst the top 10 states figuring in the list of states with most atrocities on women, Shri Modi asked if this was the Centre’s take on women safety.
Stating how the Congress feared of their condition if Modi came to power, Shri Modi said that while he is only concerned with finding solutions to people’s problems, for the Congress, all their focus was on getting rid of Modi. He appealed to the people to understand the Congress’ tactics of first extending the hand, showing their support through a handshake and then sweeping off the Nation’s assets by their ‘haath ki safai’. Shri Modi assured the people that under BJP the Nation will get rid of corruption and every penny of the funds meant for the development of the people will reach the end-user in its entirety.
Affirming of correcting all the misdoings during the Congress’ 60 years of reign, in a span of merely 60 months, Shri Modi urged the people to vote for the BJP and give chance to a ‘sevak’ to form a strong and stable government at the Centre.
Shri Jual Oram, Shri Dilip Ray, Shri Dhiren Senapati, Shri Kishen Sahu and Shri Upendra Pradhan were among the senior BJP leaders present during the rallies.
