On the evening of Saturday 25th October 2014 Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sir HN Reliance Hospital and Research Centre. The Prime Minister talked about the importance of good health and said that the Government and the people have to work together for creating a healthy India. The PM congratulated Mrs. Nita Ambani and the Reliance Foundation for their efforts to give a new life to the hospital.

The PM talked about the ‘Make in India’ initiative and called for making medical equipment in India. He said, “Medical science is changing and will keep changing. Medical equipment is costly. Why cant we encourage making of medical equipment under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. He even spoke about tele-medicine as a way to reach out to people living in distant areas.

Shri Modi said, “Preventive healthcare is important. We can improve consciousness and facilities on the issue.” He threw light on giving importance to clean drinking water as a means to create a healthy society. The PM lauded the efforts of the MP government to ensure a programme to encourage washing of hands among children.

Mrs. Nita Ambani lauded the efforts of the PM and said that he has captured the imagination of the entire world. She said, “We are witnessing a new India under your visionary leadership.” She also praised the Make in India, Digital India and Swachh Bharat Initiative.

Honourable Maharashtra Governor Shri Vidyasagar Rao, Shri Mukesh Ambani and several distinguished citizens from all walks of life were present on the occasion.
