PM Modi, who was in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi on 16th February to launch multiple development projects, met Mangal Kevat, the rickshaw-puller, who had sent PM Modi the wedding invite of his daughter.

Kevat had personally handed over the invitation in the PMO and taking cognizance of the matter, PM Modi had himself replied back to Kevat. He wrote a letter extending congratulatory wishes for Kevat’s daughter's wedding, which left Kevat and his family overjoyed!

Kevat, who had also desired to meet the Prime Minister, was even more excited as in a special gesture PM Modi himself met him during his Varanasi visit.

Inspired by PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Mangal Kevat also actively participates in the cleanliness campaign by himself cleaning the Ganga Ghats in his village, Domri. Kevat is also a devotee of Maa Ganga and spends a part of his income for upkeep of the River.
