On Friday 29th November 2013 the NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi addressed three rallies in Rajasthan. Shri Modi spoke at Sumerpur, Pokhran and Jodhpur. With this, Shri Narendra Modi concluded an extensive campaign across Rajasthan, addressing numerous public meetings and interacting with people. Shri Modi affirmed that development is possible but the Congress does not look beyond votebank politics. “Todna Congress ka swabhav hai. Jodna Humara swabhav hai. Unki soch hai todo aur raj karo, humari soch hai jodo aur vikas karo (It is Congress’ nature to divide, it is our nature to unite. They believe in divide and rule, we believe in uniting for development) he stated.

Addressing a rally in Jodhpur, Shri Modi asked the people if they believe the UPA Chairperson, who said that Rajasthan is scaling great heights under the state Congress government, to which the people said NO. he shared that neither the Courts nor the state Governor trust the state government and have rebuked it for its failures. Shri Modi questioned the Rajasthan government on why there are vacant teacher posts in the state. He stated that the worst problem the nation faces today is bad governance, adding that a government must be for the poor and not for the rich.

Shri Narendra Modi expressed confidence that there is a BJP wave in every corner of the nation and that the Congress would be uprooted in the elections. He also expressed confidence that Smt. Vasundhara Raje ji would form the next government in Rajasthan and after 200 days there would be a BJP government in Delhi.

Speaking in Pokhran, Shri Modi paid tributes to the land from where India demonstrated its might to the world. He stated, “Entire world knows Pokhran. Under Atal ji’s leadership India conducted nuclear tests here. The world saw India’s strength.” He added that after the first series of tests the world community placed sanctions on India and even the Congress said the tests were a victory of India’s scientists but 2 days later, Atal ji again called for tests, thus showing that he and the BJP were made of a different mettle. “If we had a weak PM, he or she would have got scared on the same day. But Atal ji is different. He did not get scared,” he opined.  Shri Modi congratulated the people of Pokhran for keeping silent during the entire duration when the tests were planned and conducted and placing the interests of the nation above everything else.

Shri Modi took a dig at the corruption of the Congress leaders and their families. Referring to the misdeeds of close relative of top Congress leaders, Shri Modi declared, “Congress leaders say land of poor is snatched and we made a law…I want to ask the people of Jaisalmer, who took your land? Who took acres and acres of your land? And then you give lessons to others…but then when there is a thief at home, who can they complain to?”

In Pokhran, which lies in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, Shri Modi talked about the steps taken by the Gujarat government in the development of Kutch. He shared that the Gujarat government got clean drinking water in Kutch and got water for the Army Jawans on the border. Shri Modi questioned why the same cannot happen in Jaisalmer. He pointed that had Atal ji’s dream of linking rivers been implemented, Jaisalmer’s people would have got water but that was not done. With reference to Kutch, Shri Modi also said that Kutch and Bharuch have the largest population of the Muslim community in Gujarat and these two are also the fastest growing districts in the state.

The NDA’s PM candidate affirmed that for the people of Jaisalmer, this election is about freeing the district from the influence of one family.
