On Wednesday 5th June 2013 Shri Narendra Modi will travel to New Delhi to participate in the Conference of Chief Ministers on Internal Security, which will be presided by the Prime Minister.

Shri Narendra Modi has always maintained a very tough line on internal security of the nation. In the wake of the gruesome attack in Chhattisgarh, Shri Narendra Modi had said that the attack was nothing but an attack on democracy and that the entire nation must adopt zero tolerance towards terrorism and Naxalism. He had also called for the entire nation to stand united and fight these menaces together.

The Chief Minister had attended the last Conference on Internal Security called by the PM in April 2012 where he had slammed the unilateral approach of the Centre on issues on national security.

He has been a leading voice in opposing the anti-federal spirit of the proposed NCTC for which he has not only written to the Prime Minister but also spoken at a CM’s Conference on NCTC in May last year.

The Gujarat Assembly had also passed the GUJCOC Bill but it has been awaiting the nod of the Gujarat Governor for a long time.
