माननीय राष्ट्रपती श्री रामनाथ कोविंद, उपराष्ट्रपती श्री एम. व्यंकय्या नायडू, पंतप्रधान, केंद्र सरकारचे मंत्री आणि विविध राज्यांच्या मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी आज आंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिनानिमित्त शुभेच्छा दिल्या आणि योग प्रदर्शनांत सहभाग घेतला.

Conveying his greetings on Yoga Day, the Vice-President said in a blog, that Yoga advocated purity of mind, speech and body, contentment, acceptance of others, perseverance, self-study, self-reflection and contemplation of the Supreme Being.

He also joined Yoga Day celebrations in Mumbai along with Maharashtra Chief Minister.

Prime Minister Modi led mass Yoga demonstration at FRI campus in Dehradun. Thousands of people joined the Prime Minister to perform yogic exercises. Addressing the yoga practitioners across the world, Shri Modi said, “Yoga day has become a mass movement in the quest for good health and wellbeing.”

PM Modi visits the Indian Arrival Monument

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
