It is quite ironic that those who could not even open bank accounts for all Indians in 70 years are now talking about transferring money into people’s bank accounts: PM Modi in Meerut

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge public meeting in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh today. In the meeting, PM Modi gave a clarion call to his supporters describing his vision of a ‘New India’ and urged them to vote for the Bhartiya Janta Party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to see this vision of ‘New India’ become a reality in the coming years.

Addressing the large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, Prime Minister Modi said, “Five years ago, I assured you all that I will not only pay back your support for Modi in full but will also give you my report card of what my government has achieved in the last five years. I have come here to fulfill that promise. As a ‘Chowkidar,’ it is my duty to give an account of what I have done in the last five years as well as ask others to list what they achieved during their rule. Every leader is accountable to the people of this country.”

Describing his vision of a ‘New India’ and what will it mean for the future of the country, PM Modi said, “Our ‘New India’ will be as prosperous and strong as it was in the ancient times, with its glorious heritage. A ‘New India’ with a new identity, an India with security, prosperity and respect as its core values.

We will ensure our safety from the ills of society such as terrorism, corruption, hooliganism and disease, we will prosper through our material resources as well as through our rich culture and heritage and we will respect everyone, our daughters and sisters, the labour of our people and our beloved nation.”

Comparing the decades of ill-governance of Congress and other Opposition parties with that of the incumbent BJP government, Prime Minister Modi said that the choice to the voters in the upcoming General elections is between a sloganeering government or a government that actually implements those slogans on the ground for the benefit of its people.

He added, “It was the government of this ‘Chowkidar’ that had the guts to conduct surgical strikes on land, air and even outer space. It is quite ironic that those who could not even open bank accounts for all Indians in seven decades (Congress leaders) are now talking about transferring money into the bank accounts of people. What did they about OROP for 70 years? What did they do to ensure access to basic necessities of life such as sanitation, clean cooking gas, electricity, healthcare and housing for poor people? It is this government that has ensured near-universal access of these necessities to the poor. The people of this country will never be fooled by those shedding crocodile tears on their poverty.”

Taking on the coalition of Opposition parties, the ‘Maha-Milawat,’ PM Modi reminded several instances of these leaders in Uttar Pradesh and the Centre for being the harbingers of dynastic politics and for making false promises to the ordinary people of this country for decades but never making credible efforts in fulfilling those high promises.
