PM blaming Gujarat for his weaknesses is quite hilarious!

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh's attempt to involve Gujarat in his interaction with electronic media is the most ridiculous thing of 2011. He said that Prime Minister has made a vain attempt in trying to clear out the stains that have stuck on him.

Countering to Prime Minister's opinions regarding GST, Shri Modi said when Dr.Manmohan Singh accepts his helplessness in public; he should also put facts pertaining to GST before the people of the nation, rather than blaming Gujarat government or some ministers.

Gujarat government's and BJP's approach towards GST has been positive from the beginning. Economic reforms need political will for its implementation, he said.

Referring to the meet he had with Union Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee a year back, Chief Minister said he had clearly conveyed to Shri Mukherjee that there is a need for nation-wide IT network before implementing the mechanism like GST. Finance Minister also directed his secretary to form a task force in this regard, but the matter has not step forward unfortunately, he said.

Chief Minister demanded that proceedings and minutes of the meetings of empowered committee looking into the matter of GST, should be also be put before the people of India, as no real progress has been made by this committee except just keeping on talking about the progress.

Central government is blaming state governments for non-implementation of economic reforms in the country when it itself has not taken even initial steps in this regard, Shri Modi said.

India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist. He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives.

“Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji and I interacted regularly when he was PM and I was the CM of Gujarat. We would have extensive deliberations on various subjects relating to governance. His wisdom and humility were always visible.

In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the family of Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji, his friends and countless admirers. Om Shanti."
