Addressing massive rallies in Kalyan and Mumbai in Maharashtra, on the evening of 21st April, Shri Narendra Modi appealed to the people to vote out the Congress-NCP alliance and rid themselves of the misrule these parties have imposed on them. Shri Modi condemned the ruin caused by the divisive politics of the Congress, and affirmed that for the country and its people to prosper, the BJP must be voted to power.

Shri Modi spoke of how Maharashtra had only witnessed utter ruin under the State government, and expressed shock at the State and Central government’s outright arrogance, reflected not only in their false promises but also in them being unaccountable for their actions and inactions. He spoke of how concerns like poverty, price rise, unemployment and corruption were never addressed to by the Central government. “They promised to make India slum free but did not do a thing in these 5 years. They are not even talking about it, misleading people. Jobless growth has become the hallmark of this Govt. We cannot let things go on this way. We need to create more opportunities,” said Shri Modi. From the saddening condition of farmers and the appalling unemployment scenario to the threatening price rise and the ruining corruption, Shri Modi cited many concerns which the Congress had, till date, never bothered to address.

The Congress’ falsity in deceiving the people with misleading claims was also highlighted by Shri Modi when he spoke of how their Manifesto repeated most of the unfulfilled promises made during past Elections. “Sometimes I wonder what they think the people of India are. What arrogance. They have nothing to do with the aspirations of people,” said Shri Modi. He stated how the only concern left for the Congress and its allies was to stop Shri Modi from becoming the Prime Minister, and for this they were ready to resort to lies and false allegations. They would seek the refuge of ‘secularism’ to hide their ineptitude in tackling other issues of national importance. “When they do not have answers, they retreat into a bunker of secularism. People are not ready to listen to this same old tune,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi condemned the Congress Vice President’s statement of ‘Congress being a soch (thought)’ and said stated how for the Congress VP and the party and its allies, India was actually the ‘Mother’s Land’, while for the BJP India was their ‘Motherland’.

Shri Modi avowed that the Congress and its allies would get wiped-out after the declaration of results on 16th May, and said, “The defeat awaiting the Congress is historic and they have not seen such a defeat in an election earlier. I can tell you that in several states neither Congress nor their allies will open their account. In no state will they touch double digits.”

Shri Modi paid reverence to Shivaji Maharaj and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He remembered Late Shri Balasaheb Thackeray, and affirmed that now, in his absence, more focused efforts were required to make him glad.

Shri Modi urged the people to support the Mahayuti in Maharashtra and assured them that the BJP would return the faith reposed in them by ensuring a strong and stable government in Delhi.

Shiv Sena President Shri Uddhav Thackeray spoke of the rampant corruption in the present government and stated that this had only ruined the Nation of its development prospects, whereby industrial giants were leaving the Nation. Shri Thackeray also criticized Deputy CM of Maharashtra Shri Ajit Pawar for the intimidating politics he practiced whereby votes were garnered on the basis of threats.

Senior BJP leader Shri Gopinath Munde and RPI Leader Shri Ramdas Athawale were also present during the rally.
