Shri Modi opens the Councilor Training Program of AMC (Part-1)

While inaugurating a three-day training camp for new-elected counselors of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation today at SPIPA, Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi called upon them to develop Ahmedabad as a model city in all front.

Shri Modi appealed to make Ahmedabad a slum-free city and said that five years' tenure of counselors is the opportunity for them when they can change the face of Ahmedabad city. If all the 192 counselors can tune up there work on the same note, people of Ahmedabad would see a symphony of growth, he said.

Chief Minister urged the counselors to call for meetings with the leaders of society and to seek their ideas for the development of the city.

Shri Modi said that motive behind the steps taken by British government was to prevent any sort of discontent among people and thus to safeguard their power position, but 'people's service' should be the only motto behind any measures after independence. 'Working for the good of people and of the state should be the only aim, no matter what party you are coming from', he said.

Appealing to put Ahmedabad on the global map, Chief Minister said that the city is among those parts of the country that can shape itself up to global standards. He said that Gandhiji also gave priority to cleaniless and so Ahmedabad can not afford any compromise on this front.

Chief Minister asked all 192 counselors to work as 'Team Ahmedabad' and earned reorganization for Ahmedabad that is based on some theme.

Ahmedabad Mayor Shri Asit Vora delivered welcome address and said that Ahmedabad is marching ahead with a balanced growth. He said that with the projects and programs like Sabarmati Riverfront, BRTS, Kankaria Carnival and others, infrastructural facilities in Ahmedabad have increased.

Revenue Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, Former Secretary for the urban development ministry of union government Shri Anil Baijal along with senior officials was present on the occasion.

Drone survey already completed in 92% of targeted villages
Around 2.2 crore property cards prepared

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will distribute over 50 lakh property cards under SVAMITVA Scheme to property owners in over 46,000 villages in 200 districts across 10 States and 2 Union territories on 27th December at around 12:30 PM through video conferencing.

SVAMITVA scheme was launched by Prime Minister with a vision to enhance the economic progress of rural India by providing ‘Record of Rights’ to households possessing houses in inhabited areas in villages through the latest surveying drone technology.

The scheme also helps facilitate monetization of properties and enabling institutional credit through bank loans; reducing property-related disputes; facilitating better assessment of properties and property tax in rural areas and enabling comprehensive village-level planning.

Drone survey has been completed in over 3.1 lakh villages, which covers 92% of the targeted villages. So far, around 2.2 crore property cards have been prepared for nearly 1.5 lakh villages.

The scheme has reached full saturation in Tripura, Goa, Uttarakhand and Haryana. Drone survey has been completed in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and also in several Union Territories.
