BJP’s victory in all 6 Gujarat by elections an ultimatum to Congress: CM

Shri Narendra Modi thanked the people of Gujarat and congratulated the Karyakartas and winning candidates of the BJP after the party swept the by polls in Gujarat winning all six seats that went to the polls on 2nd June 2013. These included two Lok Sabha constituencies (Porbandar and Banaskantha) and four Assembly seats (Jetpur, Dhoraji, Limbdi and Morva Hadaf). It must be noted that the Congress earlier held all six seats. The Chief Minister was speaking after attending the Conference of Chief Ministers on Internal Security in New Delhi.

Shri Modi said that the BJP’s strong victory is an ultimatum to the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and a clear message of the people expressing their unhappiness with the state of affairs in New Delhi. He profusely thanked the voters of Gujarat and lauded the hardwork of the BJP Karyakartas under the leadership of Gujarat BJP President Shri RC Faldu.

He also expressed his joy over the results on Twitter. He Tweeted, “BJP wins all 6 by elections held in Gujarat. All 6 seats were earlier with Congress. Congrats to the Karyakartas & the winning candidates.” Congratulating the people of Gujarat he Tweeted, “Heartfelt gratitude to people of Guj for reposing faith in the BJP yet again. These victories clearly show people are fed up with Congress.”

Commenting on the spectacular performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister Tweeted, “BJP has won 2 Lok Sabha seats with thumping majority. This indicates how people have lost trust in the Centre & want change desperately!” On the Vidhan Sabha victory, he Tweeted, “People of Gujarat will not leave path of development for negative politics. The resounding win of the 4 Assembly seats reaffirms this!” He also added that he would be attending a celebration at the residence of BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh to mark the BJP’s impressive performance at the hustings.

BJP National General Secretary and MLA from Naranpura Shri Amit Shah said that the BJP’s sweep in the by elections will inspire people in the upcoming elections. He added that the people of Gujarat have accepted the development work of Shri Narendra Modi yet again. Social media too was full of congratulatory messages to the BJP and Shri Narendra Modi after the impressive wins.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
