पाटणा विद्यापीठाच्या शतकमहोत्सवी कार्यक्रमात, पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी आज संबोधित केले. पाटणा विद्यापीठाला भेट देऊन विद्यार्थ्यांबरोबर संवाद साधणे हा आपला सन्मान असल्याचे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले. बिहारच्या भूमीला आपले नमन. या विद्यापीठाने असे विद्यार्थी घडवले आहेत, ज्यांनी राष्ट्रासाठी मोठे योगदान दिले आहे, असे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले.
राज्यांमध्ये पाहिले तर, नागरी सेवांमध्ये सर्वोच्च स्तरावर, असणाऱ्या व्यक्तींनी,पाटणा विद्यापीठात अध्ययन केल्याचे आपल्याला आढळून आल्याचे ते म्हणाले. दिल्लीमध्ये आपला अनेक अधिकाऱ्यांसमवेत संवाद झाला त्यापैकी बरेच जण पाटणा विद्यापीठाचे होते असे त्यांनी सांगितले.
बिहारच्या प्रगतीसाठीची, मुख्यमंत्री नितीशकुमार,यांची कटिबद्धता, प्रशंसनीय असल्याचे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले. भारताच्या पूर्वेकडच्या भागाच्या विकासाला केंद्र सरकारचे सर्वोच्च प्राधान्य असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.
बिहारला ‘ज्ञान’ आणि ‘गंगा’ या दोन्हींचा आशीर्वाद लाभला आहे. अनोखा वारसा लाभलेली ही भूमी आहे. पारंपरिक अध्यापनाकडून आपल्या विद्यापीठांनी आता कल्पक आणि नाविन्यपूर्ण शिक्षणाकडे वळण्याची गरज त्यांनी व्यक्त केली. जागतिकीकरणाच्या या काळात, जगभरातला बदलता कल आणि वाढती स्पर्धात्मकता आपण जाणून घेण्याची गरज त्यांनी व्यक्त केली. यासंदर्भात, जगात, भारताला आपले स्थान निर्माण करावे लागेल असे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले.
जनतेच्या समस्यांवर कल्पक तोडगा काढण्याच्या दृष्टीने विद्यार्थ्यांनी, विचारांना चालना द्यावी असे आवाहन पंतप्रधानांनी केले. घेतलेले शिक्षण उपयोगात आणत आणि स्टार्ट अपच्या माध्यमातून समाजाच्या कल्याणासाठी बरेच काही करता येऊ शकते असे ते म्हणाले.
पाटणा विद्यापीठातून, विमानतळाकडे जाताना, पंतप्रधानांनी, बिहारची समृद्ध संस्कृती आणि इतिहासाचे दर्शन घडवणाऱ्या संग्रहालयाला भेट दिली. यावेळी, बिहारचे मुख्यमंत्री आणि इतर मान्यवर त्यांच्या समवेत उपस्थित होते.
