Addressing a victory rally yesterday evening here, Shri Modi said ''This is the first election in which 100 Muslim candidates of BJP have emerged victorious. This makes it clear that in the country, Muslims and Christians have realised that vote bank politics has not benefited them. And therefore, 100 plus Muslims are victorious. In some Muslim pockets, some non-Muslim candidates of BJP are also victorious.
This is very big change that I can see in coming days in nation’s politics. Poor, tribal, women, Muslims and Christians voting for BJP is major change.'' After making a clean sweep in Panchayats and Nagar Panchayats polls yesterday, Shri Modi said, ''In last 60 years of politics, some classes in the country couldn’t think anything beyond Congress. But when I look at the results today, I can see, that the poorest people have also kept faith in BJP this time. Garib Kalyan Melas have established faith in their hearts that BJP is a party that would work for them.'' He attributed BJP's impressive show in recent election to the support from minorities as well as tribal voters.
He said another thing visible in the result is that, whole tribal belt 'from Umargaon to Ambaji' has elected the BJP. Thanks to state government’s tribal welfare activities and schemes, BJP has achieved 95 per cent victory in tribal belt.
Coming down heavily on the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, he said ''he way investigating and intelligence agencies of central government, whether it is RAW or IB or CBI, are employed against me and Gujarat these days, is not proper.'' Taking a dig at Congress, he said that the tasks that were not completed in last five years, are to be completed now.
