BJP’s unending focus on development and the Congress’ inherent attribute of making false promises was the core of Shri Narendra Modi’s address at the ‘Vijay Sankalp Samabesh’ rally at Sambalpur in Odisha, on the afternoon of 14th March, 2014.
Attacking the Congress’ inherent attribute and expertise in building lies and making false promises, Shri Modi said that this nature of the Congress party becomes more evident during the time of elections. The crowd replied in negation to his question of whether they were ready to forgive someone who had betrayed them. “It is not that the people want a BJP government or Modi as PM. Nation wants to teach a lesson to those who have ruined the nation,” said Shri Modi.
Shri Modi recalled his visit to Sambalpur during the 2009 elections, and spoke of how the Congress had made the promise of reducing inflation in 100 days then, but had miserably failed to do so. Condemning the introduction of the National Food Security Bill now, after being in power for 60 years, Shri Modi said, “The way they are, the Congress can never do good for the poor. And they take 60 years to understand things, as now, they have remembered that we have to make a law to feed people. Did they forget this for so many years? The longer we tolerate them, the more injustice will be done to the people.”
Elaborating further on the Congress’ lack of concern for the Nation and its citizens, Shri Modi spoke of how the welfare of tribal communities was given due consideration only under the Prime Ministership of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had introduced a new ministry and a new budget for tribal communities. “Congress cannot worry about the poor and the tribal communities of India. A new ministry, a new budget for tribal communities was made only when Atal ji was in power. If there is any government that has done best work to give land rights to tribal communities it is BJP governments,” affirmed Shri Modi. He also spoke of how the Central Government was least bothered in giving adequate support to the dwindling handicrafts and art of Sambalpur, and also lacked the vision to equip the farming community of the State with the required technological updation.
The discriminatory approach of the Congress was put forth by Shri Modi when he spoke of how the farmers of Madhya Pradesh had to suffer huge losses in the recent hailstorm that hit the State, but were left out of any support from the Central government. “There was hail storm all over MP but Shivraj Singh Chouhan had to sit on a fast to wake up the Centre. Farmers of MP are our brothers, how can we let them suffer. They don't see the farmers of MP as their own because they elected a BJP government. We all are one. Justice must be done to each and every person. One cannot see everything through a political prism,” said Shri Modi.
He further stated that instead of bothering for the welfare of its citizens, the Congress had only one concern – that of finding a solution to Shri Modi. “We are looking for solutions to the nation's problems all the time but they are finding solutions to Modi. We say stop price rise, corruption, but they say stop Modi. They don’t have an agenda apart from that,” said Shri Modi.
Shri Modi also expressed shock at the statements made by India’s Foreign Minister during his recent visit to London. He spoke of how the External Affairs Minister had abused the Election Commission in London, and had thereby degraded the institute’s prestigious repute. “We are proud of our democracy. Our election process is quick and this is done by EC. We should be proud of our EC but the External Affairs Minister is abusing the EC in London. One reason they are abusing EC is that they fear defeat,” said Shri Modi, while adding that the Minister had also abused the Supreme Court, while on a foreign land. “Their name ‘INC’ must be changed to ‘Institutions Neglecting Congress’. Their habit is to misuse, abuse and reduce institutions,” stated Shri Modi.
Even as he highlighted the phenomenal work done by the BJP governments in the neighbouring states of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Shri Modi affirmed to the people of Odisha that he did not wish to comment on the State’s Chief Minister who had no time for the people of his state.
Calling for the need to have a functional Government in Delhi, rather than having a Government merely for the sake of it, Shri Modi urged the people to vote for the BJP in the 2014 elections. “Bless me so that I can serve you and wipe your tears,” said Shri Modi. He also spoke of the one aspect common to the 1857 revolt and the 2014 elections – that of the Lotus and the roti. Affirming the Lotus’ key role during both times, Shri Modi said that while 1857 was about ‘Swaraj ki ladai’, the 2014 elections would be about ‘Surajya ki ladai’. Shri Modi also remembered the momentous contribution of Veer Surendra Sai from Sambalpur, who had challenged the British even before the revolt of 1857.
Shri Modi acknowledged the support of the crowd who had turned out in huge numbers despite the heat, and stated that this wave of support will turn into a tsunami during the elections. He also expressed his condolences to the families of those who had lost their lives in the boat accident in early February.

आज एक मई है, आज से 112 साल पहले, तीन मई 1913, भारत में पहली फीचर फिल्म राजा हरिशचंद्र रिलीज हुई थी। इसके निर्माता दादा साहेब फाल्के जी थे, और कल ही उनकी जन्मजयंती थी। बीती एक सदी में, भारतीय सिनेमा ने, भारत को दुनिया के कोने-कोने में ले जाने में सफलता पाई है। रूस में राजकपूर जी की लोकप्रियता, कान में सत्यजित रे की पॉपुलैरिटी, और ऑस्कर में RRR की Success में यही दिखता है। गुरु दत्त की सिनेमेटिक Poetry हो या फिर रित्विक घटक का Social Reflection, A.R. Rahman की धुन हो या राजामौली की महागाथा, हर कहानी, भारतीय संस्कृति की आवाज़ बनकर दुनिया के करोड़ों लोगों के दिलों में उतरी है। आज Waves के इस मंच पर हमने भारतीय सिनेमा के अनेक दिग्गजों को डाक-टिकट के माध्यम से याद किया है।

बीते वर्षों में, मैं कभी गेमिंग वर्ल्ड के लोगों से मिला हूं, कभी म्यूजिक की दुनिया के लोगों से मिला, फिल्म मेकर्स से मिला, कभी स्क्रीन पर चमकने वाले चेहरों से मिला। इन चर्चाओं में अक्सर भारत की क्रिएटिविटी, क्रिएटिव केपेबिलिटी और ग्लोबल कोलैबोरेशन की बातें उठती थीं। मैं जब भी आप सभी क्रिएटिव वर्ल्ड के लोगों से मिला, आप लोगों से Ideas लेता था, तो भी मुझे स्वयं भी इस विषय की गहराई में जाने का मौका मिला। फिर मैंने एक प्रयोग भी किया। 6-7 साल पहले, जब महात्मा गांधी जी की 150वीं जयंति का अवसर आया, तो 150 देशों के गायक-गायिकाओं को गांधी जी का प्रिय गीत, वैष्णव जन को तेने कहिए, ये गाने के लिए मैंने प्रेरित किया। नरसी मेहता जी द्वारा रचित ये गीत 500-600 साल पुराना है, लेकिन ‘गांधी 150’ के समय दुनिया भर के आर्टिस्ट्स ने इसे गाया है और इसका एक बहुत बड़ा इंपैक्ट हुआ, दुनिया एक साथ आई। यहां भी कई लोग बैठे हैं, जिन्होंने ‘गांधी 150’ के समय 2-2, 3-3 मिनट के अपने वीडियोज बनाए थे, गांधी जी के विचारों को आगे बढ़ाया था। भारत और दुनिया भर के क्रिएटिव वर्ल्ड की ताकत मिलकर क्या कमाल कर सकती है, इसकी एक झलक हम तब देख चुके हैं। आज उसी समय की कल्पनाएं, हकीकत बनकर वेव्स के रूप में जमीन पर उतरी है।
साथियों,
जैसे नया सूरज उगते ही आकाश को रंग देता है, वैसे ही ये समिट अपने पहले पल से ही चमकने लगी है। "Right from the first moment, The summit is roaring with purpose." पहले एडिशन में ही Waves ने दुनिया का ध्यान अपनी तरफ खींच लिया है। हमारे Advisory Board से जुड़े सभी साथियों ने जो मेहनत की है, वो आज यहां नजर आ रही है। आपने बीते दिनों में बड़े पैमाने पर Creators Challenge, Creatosphere का अभियान चलाया है, दुनिया के करीब 60 देशों से एक लाख क्रिएटिव लोगों ने इसमें Participate किया। और 32 चैलेंजेज़ में 800 फाइनलिस्ट चुने गए हैं। मैं सभी फाइनलिस्ट्स को अनेक-अनेक शुभकामनाएं देता हूं। आपको मौका मिला है- दुनिया में छा जाने का, कुछ कर दिखाने का।

मुझे बताया गया है कि यहां आपने भारत पैविलियन में बहुत कुछ नया रचा है, नया गढ़ा है। मैं इसे देखने के लिए भी बहुत उत्सुक हूं, मैं जरूर जाऊंगा। Waves Bazar का Initiative भी बहुत Interesting है। इससे नए क्रिएटर्स Encourage होंगे, वो नए बाजार से जुड़ पाएंगे। आर्ट की फील्ड में, Buyers और Sellers को कनेक्ट करने का ये आइडिया वाकई बहुत अच्छा है।

हम देखते हैं कि छोटे बच्चे के जीवन की शुरुआत, जब बालक पैदा होता है तब से, मां से उसका संबंध भी लोरी से शुरु होता है। मां से ही वो पहला स्वर सुनता है। उसको पहला स्वर संगीत से समझ आता है। एक मां, जो एक बच्चे के सपने को बुनती है, वैसे ही क्रिएटिव वर्ल्ड के लोग एक युग के सपनों को पिरोते हैं। WAVES का मकसद ऐसे ही लोगों को एक साथ लाने का है।

लाल किले से मैंने सबका प्रयास की बात कही है। आज मेरा ये विश्वास और पक्का हो गया है कि आप सभी का प्रयास आने वाले वर्षों में WAVES को नई ऊंचाई देगा। मेरा इंडस्ट्री के साथियों से ये आग्रह बना रहेगा, कि जैसे आपने पहली समिट की हैंड होल्डिंग की है, वो आगे भी जारी रखें। अभी तो WAVES में कई तरह की खूबसूरत लहरें आनी बाकी हैं, भविष्य में Waves अवॉर्ड्स भी लॉन्च होने वाले हैं। ये आर्ट और क्रिएटिविटी की दुनिया में सबसे प्रतिष्ठित अवॉर्ड्स होने वाले हैं। हमें जुटे रहना है, हमें जग के मन को जीतना है, जन-जन को जीतना है।

आज भारत, दुनिया की Third Largest Economy बनने की तरफ तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ रहा है। आज भारत ग्लोबल फिनटेक एडॉप्शन रेट में नंबर वन है। दुनिया का सेकेंड लार्जेस्ट मोबाइल मैन्यूफैक्चरर है। दुनिया का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा स्टार्ट-अप इकोसिस्टम भारत में है। विकसित भारत की हमारी ये जर्नी तो अभी शुरू हुई है। भारत के पास इससे भी कहीं अधिक ऑफर करने के लिए है। भारत, बिलियन प्लस आबादी के साथ-साथ, बिलियन प्लस Stories का भी देश है। दो हज़ार साल पहले, जब भरत मुनि ने नाट्यशास्त्र लिखा, तो उसका संदेश था - "नाट्यं भावयति लोकम्" इसका अर्थ है, कला, संसार को भावनाएं देती है, इमोशन देती है, फीलिंग्स देती है। सदियों पहले जब कालिदास ने अभिज्ञान-शाकुंतलम लिखी, शाकुंतलम, तब भारत ने क्लासिकल ड्रामा को एक नई दिशा दी। भारत की हर गली में एक कहानी है, हर पर्वत एक गीत है, हर नदी कुछ न कुछ गुनगुनाती है। आप भारत के 6 लाख से ज्यादा गांवों में जाएंगे, तो हर गांव का अपना एक Folk है, Storytelling का अपना ही एक खास अंदाज़ है। यहां अलग-अलग समाजों ने लोककथाओं के माध्यम से अपने इतिहास को अगली पीढ़ी तक पहुंचाया है। हमारे यहां संगीत भी एक साधना है। भजन हों, गज़लें हों, Classical हो या Contemporary, हर सुर में एक कहानी है, हर ताल में एक आत्मा है।

हमारे यहां नाद ब्रह्म यानि साउंड ऑफ डिवाइन की कल्पना है। हमारे ईश्वर भी खुद को संगीत और नृत्य से अभिव्यक्त करते हैं। भगवान शिव का डमरु - सृष्टि की पहली ध्वनि है, मां सरस्वती की वीणा - विवेक और विद्या की लय है, श्रीकृष्ण की बांसुरी - प्रेम और सौंदर्य का अमर संदेश है, विष्णु जी का शंख, शंख ध्वनि- सकारात्मक ऊर्जा का आह्वान है, इतना कुछ है हमारे पास, अभी यहां जो मन मोह लेने वाली सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुति हुई, उसमें भी इसकी झलक दिखी है। और इसलिए ही मैं कहता हूं- यही समय है, सही समय है। ये Create In India, Create For The World का सही समय है। आज जब दुनिया Storytelling के लिए नए तरीके ढूंढ रही है, तब भारत के पास हज़ारों वर्षों की अपनी कहानियों का खज़ाना है। और ये खजाना Timeless है, Thought-Provoking है और Truly Global है। और ऐसा नहीं है कि इसमें कल्चर से जुड़े विषय ही हैं, इसमें विज्ञान की दुनिया है, स्पोर्ट्स है, शौर्य की कहानियां हैं, त्याग-तपस्या की गाथाएं हैं। हमारी स्टोरीज में साइंस भी है, फिक्शन भी है, करेज है, ब्रेवरी है, भारत के इस खजाने की बास्केट बहुत बड़ी है, बहुत विशाल है। इस खजाने को दुनिया के कोने-कोने में ले जाना, आने वाली पीढ़ियों के सामने नए और Interesting तरीके से रखना, ये waves platform की बड़ी जिम्मेदारी है।
साथियों,
आप में से ज्यादातर लोगों को पता है कि हमारे यहां पद्म अवार्ड आजादी के कुछ साल बाद ही शुरू हो गए थे। इतने सालों से ये अवार्ड दिए जा रहे हैं, लेकिन हमने इन अवार्ड्स को पीपल्स पद्मा बना दिया है। जो लोग देश के दूर-दराज में, कोने-कोने में देश के लिए जी रहे हैं, समाज की सेवा कर रहे हैं, हमने उनकी पहचान की, उनको प्रतिष्ठा दी, तो पद्मा की परंपरा का स्वरूप ही बदल गया। अब पूरे देश ने खुले दिल से इसे मान्यता दी है, अब ये सिर्फ एक आयोजन ना होकर पूरे देश का उत्सव बन गया है। इसी तरह वेव्स भी है। वेव्स क्रिएटिव वर्ल्ड में, फिल्म में, म्यूजिक में, एनीमेशन में, गेमिंग में, भारत के कोने-कोने में जो टैलेंट है, उसे एक प्लेटफार्म देगा, तो दुनिया भी इसे अवश्य सराहेगी।

कंटेंट क्रिएशन में भारत की एक और विशेषता, आपकी बहुत मदद करने वाली है। हम, आ नो भद्र: क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वत: के विचार को मानने वाले हैं। इसका मतलब है, चारों दिशाओं से हमारे पास शुभ विचार आएं। ये हमारी civilizational openness का प्रमाण है। इसी भाव के साथ, पारसी यहां आए। और आज भी पारसी कम्यूनिटी, बहुत गर्व के साथ भारत में थ्राइव कर रही है। यहां Jews आए और भारत के बनकर रह गए। दुनिया में हर समाज, हर देश की अपनी-अपनी सिद्धियां हैं। इस आयोजन में यहां इतने सारे देशों के मंत्रीगण हैं, प्रतिनिधि हैं, उन देशों की अपनी सफलताएं हैं, दुनिया भर के विचारों को, आर्ट को वेलकम करना, उनको सम्मान देना, ये हमारे कल्चर की ताकत है। इसलिए हम मिलकर, हर कल्चर की अलग-अलग देशों की उपलब्धियों से जुड़ा बेहतरीन कंटेंट भी क्रिएट कर सकते हैं। ये ग्लोबल कनेक्ट के हमारे विजन को भी मजबूती देगा।

मैं आज दुनिया के लोगों को भी ये विश्वास दिलाना चाहता हूं, भारत के बाहर के जो क्रिएटिव वर्ल्ड के लोग हैं, उन्हें ये विश्वास दिलाना चाहता हूं, कि आप जब भारत से जुड़ेंगे, जब आप भारत की कहानियों को जानेंगे, तो आपको ऐसी-ऐसी स्टोरीज मिलेंगी, कि आपको लगेगा कि अरे ये तो मेरे देश में भी होता है। आप भारत से बहुत नैचुरल कनेक्ट फील करेंगे, तब आपको Create In India का हमारा मंत्र और सहज लगेगा।

ये भारत में Orange Economy का उदय काल है। Content, Creativity और Culture - ये Orange Economy की तीन धुरी हैं। Indian films की reach अब दुनिया के कोने-कोने तक पहुंच रही है। आज Hundred Plus देशों में भारतीय फिल्में release होती हैं। Foreign audiences भी अब Indian films को सिर्फ सरसरी तौर से देखते नहीं, बल्कि समझने की कोशिश करता है। इसलिए आज बड़ी संख्या में विदेशी दर्शक Indian content को subtitles के साथ देख रहे हैं। India में OTT Industry ने पिछले कुछ सालों में 10x growth दिखाई है। Screen size भले छोटा हो रहा हो, पर scope infinite है। स्क्रीन माइक्रो होती जा रही है पर मैसेज मेगा होता जा रहा है। आजकल भारत का खाना विश्व की पसंद बनता जा रहा है। मुझे विश्वास है कि आने वाले दिनों में भारत का गाना भी विश्व की पहचान बनेगा।

भारत की Creative Economy आने वाले वर्षों में GDP में अपना योगदान और बढ़ा सकती है। आज भारत Film Production, Digital Content, Gaming, Fashion और Music का Global Hub बन रहा है। Live Concerts से जुड़ी इंडस्ट्री के लिए अनेक संभावनाएं हमारे सामने हैं। आज ग्लोबल एनीमेशन मार्केट का साइज़ Four Hundred And Thirty Billion Dollar से ज्यादा का है। अनुमान है कि अगले 10 सालों में ये डबल हो सकता है। ये भारत की एनीमेशन और ग्राफिक्स इंडस्ट्री के लिए बहुत बड़ा अवसर है।

मेरा पूरा विश्वास आप पर है, कंटेंट क्रिएटर्स पर है, और इसकी वजह भी है। Youth की spirit में, उनकी वर्किंग स्टाइल में, कोई barriers, कोई baggage या boundaries नहीं होती, इसीलिए आपकी creativity बिल्कुल free-flow करती है, इसमें कोई hesitation, कोई Reluctance नहीं होता। मैंने खुद, हाल ही में कई young creators से, gamers से, और ऐसे ही कई लोगों से personally interaction किया है। Social media पर भी मैं आपकी creativity को देखता रहता हूं, आपकी energy को feel करता हूं, ये कोई संयोग नहीं है कि आज जब भारत के पास दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी young population है, ठीक उसी वक्त हमारी creativity की नई-नई dimensions सामने आ रही हैं। Reels, podcasts, games, animation, startup, AR-VR जैसे formats, हमारे यंग माइंड्स, इन हर format में शानदार काम कर रहे हैं। सही मायने में वेव्स आपकी जनरेशन के लिए है, ताकि आप अपनी एनर्जी, अपनी Efficiency से, Creativity की पूरी इस Revolution को Re-imagine कर सकें, Re-define कर सकें।
साथियों,
Creativity की दुनिया के आप दिग्गजों के सामने, मैं एक और विषय की चर्चा करना चाहता हूं। ये विषय है- Creative Responsibility, हम सब देख रहे हैं कि 21वीं सेंचुरी के, जो की टेक ड्रिवन सेंचुरी है। हर व्यक्ति के जीवन में टेक्नोलॉजी का रोल लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है। ऐसे में मानवीय संवेदनाओं को बनाए रखने के लिए extra efforts की जरूरत हैं। ये क्रिएटिव वर्ल्ड ही कर सकता है। हमें इंसान को रोबोट्स नहीं बनने देना है। हमें इंसान को अधिक से अधिक संवेदनशील बनाना है, उसे और अधिक समृद्ध करना है। इंसान की ये समृद्धि, इंफॉर्मेशन के पहाड़ से नहीं आएगी, ये टेक्नोलॉजी की स्पीड और रीच से भी नहीं आएगी, इसके लिए हमें गीत, संगीत, कला, नृत्य को महत्व देना होगा। हज़ारों सालों से ये, मानवीय संवेदना को जागृत रखे हुए हैं। हमें इसे और मजबूत करना है। हमें एक और अहम बात याद रखनी है। आज हमारी यंग जेनरेशन को कुछ मानवता विरोधी विचारों से बचाने की ज़रूरत है। WAVES एक ऐसा मंच है, जो ये काम कर सकता है। अगर इस ज़िम्मेदारी से हम पीछे हट गए तो, ये युवा पीढ़ी के लिए बहुत घातक होगा।
