PM Modi interacted with students aboard the Delhi Metro on his way to Delhi University to take part in the centenary celebrations. PM Modi had a conversation on India’s linguistic diversity and also asked students on their experiences in learning or understanding the different languages of India.

PM Modi also enquired whether the students were aware of the Pariskha Pe Charcha programme. On the same PM Modi emphasized the importance of managing stress and being detached to enable efficient performance. In responding to one of the questions on PM Modi’s rising stature, he said, “This rise is due to the support of the people of India. It is the trust that has been reposed on him by the youth of this country.”

The interaction also focused on the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, and how this has enabled a promotion of a vernacular medium of education. For the same, PM Modi said, “Language should never be a barrier to learning.” He further added that India was replete with talented students and this policy seeks to provide equal opportunities of learning and education for all.

PM Modi also emphasized the concept of digital transactions and asked the students to only pay through digital means for one week as a mode to promote digital payments in the country. A student also appreciated PM Modi’s endeavour to create policies empowering the Divyangjans serving as a means to enable further equitable opportunities of education.

Lastly, PM Modi encouraged the youth to be ‘pro planet people’ and contribute efforts towards enabling cleanliness and environmental consciousness. Within the same context, PM Modi said that India can achieve the TB free status by 2025 provided the youth play a contributory role.

The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has extended his heartfelt wishes to all participating teams, players, officials, and supporters across Asia on the eve of the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025, which begins tomorrow, August 29, in the historic city of Rajgir, Bihar. Shri Modi lauded Bihar which has made a mark as a vibrant sporting hub in recent times, hosting key tournaments like the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, Asia Rugby U20 Sevens Championship 2025, ISTAF Sepaktakraw World Cup 2024 and Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024.

In a thread post on X today, the Prime Minister said,

“Tomorrow, 29th August (which is also National Sports Day and the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand), the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 begins in the historic city of Rajgir in Bihar. I extend my best wishes to all the participating teams, players, officials and supporters across Asia.”

“Hockey has always held a special place in the hearts of millions across India and Asia. I am confident that this tournament will be full of thrilling matches, displays of extraordinary talent and memorable moments that will inspire future generations of sports lovers.”
