മഹാനായ ശിവാജി മഹാരാജിന്റെ ജന്മനാളിന് ഒരു ദിവസം മുന്‍പാണു താന്‍ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയില്‍ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതെന്നു പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സദസ്സിനെ ഓര്‍മിപ്പിച്ചു.
ആഗോളവല്‍ക്കരണം ഒരു യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാണെന്നും അത്തരമൊരു സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ നിലകൊള്ളാന്‍ ഏറ്റവും മേന്‍മയുള്ള അടിസ്ഥാനസൗകര്യം അനിവാര്യമാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. സാഗര്‍മാല പദ്ധതിയിലൂടെ തുറമുഖങ്ങളുടെ വികസനം മാത്രമല്ല, തുറമുഖ കേന്ദ്രീകൃത വികസനവും യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാകുന്നുവെന്നു പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. ജലപാതകള്‍ വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് തീവ്രശ്രമം നടത്തിവരികയാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
നവി മുംബൈ വിമാനത്താവള പദ്ധതി വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി അനിശ്ചിതാവസ്ഥയിലായിരുന്നുവെന്നു പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. പദ്ധതികള്‍ നടപ്പാക്കാന്‍ വൈകുന്നതു പല പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുമെന്നും പദ്ധതികളുടെ പൂര്‍ത്തീകരണത്തിനു മുന്‍ഗണന നല്‍കുന്നതിനായാണു ‘പ്രഗതി’ക്കു രൂപം നല്‍കിയതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം അറിയിച്ചു.
ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വ്യോമഗതാഗത രംഗം അതിവേഗം വളരുകയാണെന്നും വിമാനയാത്ര നടത്തുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണം ഗണ്യമായി വര്‍ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനാല്‍, വ്യോമഗതാഗത രംഗത്തു മേന്‍മയേറിയ അടിസ്ഥാനസൗകര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ടെന്നു ശ്രീ. നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. പരിവര്‍ത്തനത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്ന വ്യോമയാന നയം കേന്ദ്ര ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് ആവിഷ്‌കരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. വ്യോമഗതാഗതം ശക്തിപ്പെടുന്നതു കൂടുതല്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക അവസരങ്ങള്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുമെന്നു പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. യാത്രാസൗകര്യം വര്‍ധിക്കുന്നതു കൂടുതല്‍ വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളെ ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്ക് ആകര്‍ഷിക്കുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
