Continuing his election campaigning spree, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed public meetings in Gujarat’s Surendranagar, Jambusar & Navsari. Highlighting the ongoing wave of pro-incumbency in the state, PM Modi said, “Gujarat has given a new culture to the country's democracy. In the decades after independence, whenever elections were held, there was a lot of discussion about anti-incumbency. But Gujarat changed this tradition to pro-incumbency.”

The Prime Minister underlined the evolution of Gujarat’s dairy sector. He said, “20 years ago Gujarat used to produce 60 lakh metric tonnes of milk. Today, more than 2.5 times, around 175 lakh metric tonnes is produced. People told me that Sursagar Dairy here has become Sukhsagar for them.” Prime Minister Modi also talked about how the Gujarat’s education infrastructure has strengthened under the BJP government.

Coming down heavily on the Opposition for their derogatory remarks about him, PM Modi said, "Nowadays the Opposition has resorted to making me aware of my aukaat. But what aukaat do I have in front of those brought up in palaces. I have no aukaat, I am a sevak of the people, I am one of you. I want to ask them to leave all this and talk about ‘vikas’ issues.”

Highlights from Jambusar Public Meeting
In his second rally for the day at Jambusar, PM Modi enlightened people on how Gujarat has given the nation the practice of elections based on development and doing away with elections that only talked about corruption and scams. PM Modi further highlighted that Gujarat is able to give true benefits of schemes to the correct beneficiaries because of the double-engine government.

PM Modi also talked about empowering women in society, PM Modi said, “Our emphasis is on the employment of sisters and daughters and on self-employment. That's why Sakhi Mandals are being empowered.” PM Modi further iterated on the BJP’s priority towards the tribal population of Gujarat. PM Modi said that the Congress and their like-minded people neither respect the tribals nor took care of their needs. PM Modi highlighted how the BJP is now empowering tribals and raising their pride in society, and added that the BJP government is supporting the tribal population at every stage of their lives.

PM Modi finally addressed the people on the upcoming pharma projects that will be set up in the Jambusar area, PM Modi said, “Thousands of new jobs are going to be created here…Now the medicines made in Jambusar will work to save the lives of crores of people”. PM Modi further added that the Jambusar area will also reap the benefits of the bullet train being developed around the area.

Highlights from Navsari Public Meeting
PM Modi in his final rally for the day at Navsari, Gujarat, started his address by iterating the value of one vote to the people of Navsari. PM Modi said that each vote from Navsari has contributed to the development of Navsari, be it by providing piped water connections or giving housing to several families.

Talking about the support to the agricultural sector, especially in Navsari, PM Modi talked about the Chiku farmers and how they are now sending over 100 racks of fruit every season. PM Modi further talked about the impetus given to the fishermen for strengthening their income, he said that the Congress never understood the problems of fishermen. The Congress kept destroying the coastal areas in Gujarat but the BJP, through its Sagarkhedu scheme is revitalising the strength of the fishermen. PM Modi also added that due to the people’s trust in the BJP, fish production doubled to 120 lakh tonnes since 2014.

PM Modi finally addressed the people on the fallacies of the Congress and said that the Congress tried to subdue the heritage, culture, tribals and freedom fighters of Gujarat since ages but the BJP, today, is giving the due credit to all those who have contributed significantly to the nation.
