I am the first PM who raised from Red Fort the issue of toilets, expressed anguish at use of derogatory words for women, says PM Modi

Addressing the BJP National Convention 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Today is February 18th, and the youth who have reached the age of 18 in this era will vote in the country's 18th Lok Sabha election. In the next 100 days, you need to connect with every new voter, reach every beneficiary, every section, every community, and every person who believes in every religion. We need to gain the trust of everyone.”

Talking about India taking a giant leap towards a developed India in upcoming 5 years, the PM iterated, “In the last 10 years, India has achieved unprecedented momentum and gained the courage to achieve significant goals. India has reached new heights in every sector today, connecting every citizen with a sense of great determination. And this determination is - a developed India. We must make India developed, and in this, the next 5 years will play a significant role. In the next 5 years, India must work at a much faster pace than before.”

Emphasizing a robust return of the BJP to power, the Prime Minister stated, “Today, even opposition leaders are chanting slogans of the NDA government crossing the 400-mark. And for NDA to cross 400, BJP must surpass the milestone of 370.”

Reflecting on the legacy of the great leader Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, PM Modi said, "We are the ones who respect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. When Shivaji Maharaj was crowned, he did not say, 'Now that I have power, let's enjoy it.' He continued his mission. Similarly, I am not someone who lives for personal wealth and prosperity. I am not seeking a third term in the BJP government for the sake of power. I am a person driven by the resolve of the nation. The dream of millions of youth, millions of sisters and daughters, millions of the poor is Modi's resolve. And it is for the fulfillment of this resolve that we are working day and night."

“Today, the BJP is transforming the power of youth, women, the poor, and farmers into the strength for building a developed India. Previously, people used to think that governments change, but the system does not. We have, with a genuine sense of social justice, moved every system beyond old thinking and outdated approaches. We have asked and acknowledged those whom no one else bothered to,” he added.

Highlighting the efforts undertaken for women's well-being, PM Modi said, “I am the first Prime Minister of the country who addressed issues like sanitation from the Red Fort. I am the first Prime Minister who raised questions at the Red Fort against the use of derogatory language towards women. Women's dignity and honor are paramount for us. I am proud that over the past 10 years, the BJP government has taken numerous steps to make the lives of women easier. To economically empower women and make it easier for daughters to work, we have also taken numerous steps.”

The Prime Minister discussed several initiatives aimed at women empowerment, including programs like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Lakhpati Didis, Self Help Groups, maternity leave policies and Mudra loans to name a few.

PM Modi underscored how the last 10 years have been marked by bold decisions and groundbreaking resolutions. He said, “Issues that lingered for centuries... we showed the courage to resolve them. By constructing the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, we put an end to a wait of 5 centuries. In Pavagadh, Gujarat, the Dharma Dhwaja has been unfurled after 500 years. After 7 decades, we opened the Kartarpur Corridor. After a wait of 7 decades, the nation was freed from Article 370.”

Furthermore, he added, “Approximately 6 decades later, the new form of Rajpath, the Kartavya Path emerged. Finally, after 4 decades, the demand for One Rank One Pension was fulfilled. After 3 decades, the country got a new National Education Policy. The need for a new Parliament building, felt for decades, was finally fulfilled by us. Every BJP karyakarta is fortunate to be a part of such numerous accomplishments.”

Strongly criticizing opposition parties, PM Modi asserted that they have acknowledged their inability to make India developed. He emphasized, “Only the BJP is the party that has dared to dream of it. We are working with a mission to transform India into a developed country by 2047. In our third term, we are determined to position India as the world's third-largest economic power. This is Modi's Guarantee. And making India the third economic power... signifies an exponential expansion of India's economic, military, and cultural strength.”

Addressing the BJP karyakartas, the PM stated, “Coming into the top three economies of India means. The standard of living for every family in India will improve. The income of every Indian family will increase significantly. India's public transport will become more modern. New sectors will open up for employment in India, providing even more opportunities for jobs. Women in India will get the chance to lead at every front. Our farmers will work with the latest technology. There will be ample resources and infrastructure in the country to make people's lives better.”

Stressing on how a youth-driven India is setting ambitious goals for itself and achieving them today, PM Modi said, “We are working to host the Youth Olympics in India in 2029 and the Olympic Games in 2036. By 2030, we are working towards the target of Net Zero for our railways. Instead of 2030, we will achieve the goal of 20% Ethanol Blending in petrol five years ahead of our target date. India is also formulating policies to achieve the Net Zero target by 2070. This means that in the coming years, our country will witness countless green job opportunities.”

“The BJP is the only party today that is so dedicated to the idea of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”. I cannot forget my experiences from the past month. During this time, I had the opportunity to visit many places related to Lord Shri Ram. During this time, the warmth I received from people in various regions of South India is truly overwhelming. As I traveled through the streets, people showered their blessings on me,” he said.

Talking about the spirit of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat", PM Modi said, “Our complete focus is on the development of every region. The example of the Northeast is right in front of you. In previous governments, the Northeast was completely neglected. Today, whether it's Siachen or the ambitious districts of the country, none are far from us. The villages that were once referred to as the last villages are now the first villages of our country. Every part of the country is important for us, and our focus is on each segment.”

PM Modi highlighted that the government is inclusive with the essence of "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas" evident in actions. He expressed pride in Kartarpur Sahib Corridor's role in fulfilling spiritual aspirations. Initiatives include removing GST from langar items, FCRA registration for the Golden Temple, and observing Veer Bal Diwas to honor sacrifices. The government has improved the Haj pilgrimage process, allowing convenience and making it easier for women.

The Prime Minister mentioned that upon taking office in 2014, critics questioned our experience and the functioning of the government. He highlighted the significant discussions on foreign policy. Recently returning from the UAE and Qatar, he emphasized the strength of India's global relationships. The ties with Western Asian countries are now at their strongest. He also recalled his visit to the UAE in 2015, noting that no Indian Prime Minister had visited there in the previous 34 years, underscoring the region's prior neglect.

“In today's scenario, political parties in different countries openly acknowledge that India's strength is beneficial for the entire world. The respect for India and its influence is growing in every continent. Countries around the globe are emphasizing the establishment of deeper connections with India,” he added.

PM Modi reiterated, "Several countries are seeking dates for discussions with our government in July, August, and September. What does this imply? It means that various nations around the world are entirely confident about the return of the BJP government. They also know – Aayega Toh Modi Hi."

Addressing the huge gathering, PM Modi said that every BJP karyakarta has a duty to save the country from Congress. Highlighting Congress's track record of being a source of instability, dynasty politics, corruption, and appeasement, the PM emphasized that Congress lacks a development agenda and a roadmap for the future, and its current actions show a divisive approach based on language or region.

Slamming the Congress party for consistently raising questions and doubts about our Army’s accomplishments, PM Modi said, “The biggest sin of Congress is that it has not hesitated to break the morale of the country's armed forces. Congress has left no stone unturned in causing damage to India's national security and military strength.

“These individuals tried to block the acquisition of advanced aircraft like Rafale for our Air Force, spreading false claims about the elimination of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Despite their efforts, HAL has flourished, evident in its order book and market value. These are the same people who doubted our armed forces' valor during surgical strikes and demanded proof of the success of the airstrike. Congress consistently undermines the Indian military,“ he added.

Launching a scathing attack on Congress for not fighting on ideological issues. The PM asserted, “Congress is so demoralized that it has lost the courage for ideological and intellectual opposition. Therefore, resorting to insults, false accusations against Modi has become their sole agenda.”

PM Modi said, “From the Red Fort, I had said – ‘Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai’. Today, the time has come to change the destiny of our country. In the upcoming 100 days, every BJP karyakarta must set new goals for themselves and achieve them. In the past years, the benefits of BJP government schemes have reached millions of beneficiaries.” He further urged the BJP karyakartas, “You need to reach every beneficiary and convey that PM Modi has greeted them. The Namo app will also be helpful in this. Through the Namo app, convey my regards and my letter to those beneficiaries. Make sure that not a single first-time voter in any booth is left untouched by a BJP Karyakarta.”

Remember, our goal is not just to unite people to form a government, but to unite people to build a nation. We need to reach those who are currently not with the BJP, and our mantra is "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas." The time has come to fulfill the dreams our freedom fighters had envisioned, and for that, BJP is essential, a BJP government is necessary.”

"In conclusion, PM Modi once again encouraged the large BJP karyakartas, stating, “Embark on your mission in the region with a fresh commitment. This time, let's aim beyond 400. We need to come together for this endeavor.”
