Good governance initiatives of NDA aimed at bringing a positive difference in the lives of poor
States with large SC/ST and OBC communities placing their faith in BJP and Shri Modi’s vision of development

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s firm commitment to social justice is very well known. Coming from a poor family and belonging to the lower strata of society he fully understands the problems people face and the desire for opportunity and aspiration. In the last one year Shri Modi has initiated several good governance initiatives that benefit the underprivileged.

A firm believer in “social justice” and “complete social inclusiveness” the Prime Minister strongly condemned the approach of those who spread lies about the BJP and the policies of the party. He also exposed the double standards and vested political interest and highlighted how the BJP is serving states with large populations of SC/ST and OBC community.

Speaking at a public meeting in Bandra, Mumbai on Sunday 11th October 2015, PM Narendra Modi said, “With a BJP government in power and polls getting under way, a malicious propaganda is being spread that the government is against reservation.”

Recalling similar kind of “falsehood” that was spread during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, PM Modi said, “This is not politics and the falsehood must stop.”

Invoking the legacy of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, PM Modi said, "This [reservation] is something which the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, has given us and no power can take it away.”

He urged people of the nation not to believe the opposition's lies that the BJP was against reservation. “My government is committed to the Indian Constitution including the reservation policies which Dr Ambedkar evolved for the emancipation of the socially oppressed and suppressed sections of society,” he said.

Emphasizing on the need of sustained effort towards realization of Babasaheb’s dream of “national integration and social homogeneity”, PM Modi said, “I have seen poverty. I have lived with it and I know there is a lot to be done for the uplift of the downtrodden of the society to whose betterment Babasheb was committed."

Highlighting the acceptance of BJP among the scheduled caste, schedule tribe, OBCs, PM Narendra Modi said that most of the states with maximum SC/ST, OBC population has chosen BJP to govern...It is an indication of the fact that BJP is the party which is carrying forward the core legacy of Babasaheb and the underprivileged community accept us.

"Unless they are given their due place in society, the country cannot progress," he added.

PM Modi visited the Chaitya Bhoomi at Shivaji Park, the first serving PM to visit the site, to pay tribute to the chief architect of the constitution. He reached the adjoining Indu Mills compound where he laid the foundation stone for the Ambedkar Memorial. For many years politics was played on the issue but it was Shri Narendra Modi and the BJP-led Government in Maharashtra that moved ahead with the process to build a grand memorial for Dr. Ambedkar.

PM to distribute over 50 lakh property cards to property owners under SVAMITVA Scheme
December 26, 2024
Drone survey already completed in 92% of targeted villages
Around 2.2 crore property cards prepared

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will distribute over 50 lakh property cards under SVAMITVA Scheme to property owners in over 46,000 villages in 200 districts across 10 States and 2 Union territories on 27th December at around 12:30 PM through video conferencing.

SVAMITVA scheme was launched by Prime Minister with a vision to enhance the economic progress of rural India by providing ‘Record of Rights’ to households possessing houses in inhabited areas in villages through the latest surveying drone technology.

The scheme also helps facilitate monetization of properties and enabling institutional credit through bank loans; reducing property-related disputes; facilitating better assessment of properties and property tax in rural areas and enabling comprehensive village-level planning.

Drone survey has been completed in over 3.1 lakh villages, which covers 92% of the targeted villages. So far, around 2.2 crore property cards have been prepared for nearly 1.5 lakh villages.

The scheme has reached full saturation in Tripura, Goa, Uttarakhand and Haryana. Drone survey has been completed in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and also in several Union Territories.
