Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed public meetings in Assam's Rangapara and Panchgram districts. Speaking at the event, Shri Modi said that Congress ruled the state for fifteen years but did not take measures for it's development.
The PM further added that people of the state reposed faith in them but they betrayed the people and their aspirations. "For fifteen years Congress party ruled Assam, for sixty years at the Centre and a Prime Minister was elected from this state for a decade but did the state develop" Shri Modi questioned. He also said that the Congress party, in their last five manifestos, had only reshuffled their promises but did not fulfil any.
Shri Narendra Modi said that his party's fight was against poverty and corruption. "Why is the CM saying I am fighting Modi? This is a democracy. We have to fight corruption and poverty", he added.
Prime Minister Modi clearly stated that his party's agenda was development, fast-pace development and all-round development of Assam. He highlighted how the poor people did not have access to banks earlier but now had bank accounts. "Congress nationalised banks in the name of poor but they were the only people who did not have access to banking", he added further.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted about numerous steps being taken by the Centre for enhancing the rail and road connectivity in the North-East.
Shri Narendra Modi urged people of Assam to turn up in large numbers and vote for a BJP Government that is dedicated to good governance and would bring in a new dawn of progress in the state.
