17-ാമത് ലോകസഭയുടെ ആദ്യ സമ്മേളനത്തിന് മുന്നോടിയായി പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി എല്ലാ പുതിയ എം.പി.മാരെയും സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്തു.
‘2019 ലെ ലോകസഭാ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന് ശേഷമുള്ള ആദ്യ സമ്മേളനമാണിന്ന്. എല്ലാ പുതിയ എം.പി. മാരെയും ഞാന്‍ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുന്നു. സേവനത്തിനായുള്ള പുതിയ പ്രതീക്ഷകളും അഭിലാഷങ്ങളും, നിശ്ചയദാര്‍ഢ്യവുമാണ് അവരോടൊപ്പം വരുന്നത്’, സമ്മേളനത്തിന് മുന്നോടിയായി മാധ്യമ പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
17-ാം ലോകസഭയില്‍ വനിതാ പാര്‍ലമെന്റേറിയന്‍മാരുടെ വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ച എണ്ണത്തില്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സന്തുഷ്ടി പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. പാര്‍ലമെന്റ് സുഗമമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ് ജനാഭിലാഷം നിറവേറ്റാന്‍ അതിന് കഴിയുന്നത്.
പാര്‍ലമെന്ററി ജനാധിപത്യത്തില്‍ പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യവും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി അടിവരയിട്ട് പറഞ്ഞു. പ്രതിപക്ഷം സജ്ജീവമായി സഭയുടെ നടപടിക്രമങ്ങളില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പ്രത്യാശ പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. പ്രതിപക്ഷം സഭയുടെ തങ്ങളുടെ അംഗസംഖ്യയോര്‍ത്ത് വിഷമിക്കേണ്ടന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
‘നാം പാര്‍ലമെന്റിലേയ്ക്ക് വരുമ്പോള്‍ പക്ഷവും, പ്രതിപക്ഷവും നാം മറക്കണം. നിഷ്പക്ഷമായ മനോഭാവത്തോടെ വിഷയങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ച് ചിന്തിക്കുകയും രാഷ്ട്രത്തിന്റെ വിശാലമായ താല്‍പ്പര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുകയും വേണം’, പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.
