On the evening of 4th October 2017, I had the opportunity to address company secretaries from all over India, at the golden jubilee celebrations of the ICSI. During the programme, I spoke at length about India's development journey and the economic transformation taking place in the country.

I assure my fellow countrymen and women as well as people from across the world that the Government of India will continue to take bold and futuristic decisions which are going to place India in a new league of unprecedented development.

We in the Government of India respect the hard earned money of every Indian are will not tolerate any form of corruption or anything that adversely affects the interests of the honest citizens of India.

I also shared some facts on the Indian economy, which I am sharing below in the form of graphics. Do have a look.

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
