Make Gujarat Congress Mukt along with Gutka Mukt: Shri Modi

Record turnout at the venue. People from all communities, age groups show solidarity with the Yatra and Shri Modi

On the evening of 23rd September 2012 Shri Narendra Modi addressed a massive gathering in the city of Amreli as a part of the ongoing Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra.

In his speech Shri Modi asked the gathering if they are satisfied with the work of the Gujarat Government in every field ranging from health, education, building of roads, industrial growth, job creation, Beti Bachao and Kanya Kelavani initiatives to which the unanimous roar was a strong ‘YES!’ But, Shri Modi said that while the people may be happy, he is not yet happy because what his Government has done till now is to fill the ditches created by 40 years of Congress rule. After January 2013 the march towards a Bhavya (Excellent) and Divya (Divine) Gujarat will commence..

Shri Modi affirmed that the people of Gujarat have kept the Congress party away from power for the past 23 years, which explains why the Congress is still frantically seeking houses in Gandhinagar. Speaking in the advertisements of the Congress that call for changing Gujarat’s direction (Disha) to improve the state’s condition (Dasha), Shri Modi stated that had the Congress adopted Sardar Patel’s Disha years ago things would not have been the way they are. He added that Gujarat has adopted Sardar Patel’s Disha and the results are something that the entire world is seeing!

The Chief Minister said that if someone makes a minor mistake it was be forgiven but cheating with the people is unforgivable. He attacked the Congress for repeatedly cheating the people. Giving examples of the Congress cheating the people, Shri Modi shared that in their manifestos the Congress promised to bring down prices in 100 days and give jobs to 1 crore people and eradicate poverty but none of this has happened. Shri Modi urged the people that they should make Gujarat ‘Congress free’ just like the Government has decided to make the state Gutka free. Earlier, speaking on the occasion BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat Shri Purushottam Rupala stated that Shri Narendra Modi is continuously fighting for the rights of Gujarat and its people.

People from across all age groups and communities came out in large numbers to support the Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra and Shri Modi.
