Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi Congratulated Team Gujarat for Winning Four Prestigious National e-Governance Awards out of a total of 16 Awards, the highest amongst all States.
These Awards were given away by the Governor of Kerala and the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Govt. of India.
The National e-Governance Awards for 2013-14 were announced at a function held during the 17th National Conference on e-Governance at Kochi, Kerala on 30-31 January, 2014 organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, in association with the Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.
These awards were given in different categories concerning various aspects of e-Governance. The objective of these awards is to recognize and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives.
The award winning projects of Gujarat are:
1. Effective Seismological Monitoring through e-Governance to save lives & Damage due to earthquakes
2. Investors Support System (ISS) Software
3. GIS School Mapping-ensuring Access to Elementary Education
4. Barcoded Ration Card & Biometric Food Coupon System for Effective & Efficient Service Delivery (Targeted Public Distribution System)
So far Gujarat has won around 125 awards in the field of e-Governance.
