Prime Minister Narendra Modi's day three in the UK was eventful. The day began with meeting Mr. Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the UK Labour Party.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister unveiled the statue of Basaveshwara in London. Shri Modi said that the statue would be an inspiration for all those who believe in democratic ideals and humanity. The Prime Minister described Basaveshwara as a great philosopher and social reformer, who had fought against social evils of his time, and worked for the strengthening of democracy at the grassroots.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said he was deeply pained by the terror attacks in Paris yesterday. He said this was not just an attack on the people of France, but on all of humanity, and the time had come for all humanitarian forces from across the world to unite to fight this global menace. He said it was imperative that the United Nations finalises a definition of terrorism.

Basaveshwara Statue unveiled today will be an inspiration for those believing in democratic ideals & humanity.

The Prime Minister also visited the house where Dr. B. R. Ambedkar stayed and inaugurated the Dr. Ambedkar Memorial at King Henry's Road in London. Shri Modi said that his message of equality and justice would continue to resonate. "This is the sacred spot where Dr. Ambedkar pursued his quest for knowledge, overcoming all the difficulties and the barriers placed before him," the Prime Minister wrote in the Visitors' Book. "I bow to the great man who worked ceaselessly for the oppressed sections of society," he added. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also accompanied the PM.

Just visited the house where Dr. Ambedkar stayed. His message of equality & justice continues to resonate.

Shri Narendra Modi also visited the Jaguar Land Rover factory in Solihull where he was briefed about the latest technological innovations.

After the three-day historic visit to the UK, Prime Minister Modi took his flight to Antalya, Turkey where he would join several leaders from around the world for the G20 Summit. The Prime Minister thanked the UK Government, PM David Cameron and the people for their warm reception. He hoped that in times to come, India-UK ties would be strengthened.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will distribute more than 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed recruits on 23rd December at around 10:30 AM through video conferencing. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation. It will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their participation in nation building and self empowerment.

Rozgar Mela will be held at 45 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place for various Ministries and Departments of the Central Government. The new recruits, selected from across the country will be joining various Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, among others.
