CM offers prayers to Goddess Siddheshwari

CM says the people should press Centre for enactinglaw for the protection of cow-progeny

Speaking on the
Patotsav celebration of Goddess Siddheshwari in Rangpur of Mansa taluka in Gandhinagar district Chief Minister Narendra Modisaid the people should press the Central government for enacting alaw for the protection of cow-progeny and particularly for banning ferrying of cow-beef in railways. Mr. Modi was speaking to a largenumber of people who gathered for the celebration.

On the occasion, Chief Minister offered prayers to Goddess Siddheshwari.

Appreciating the social awareness campaignheld as a partof
patotsav celebration he said the religion and culture are the vital forces of our society. He pointed out that Gujarat is the only state which has enacted a law for the protection of cow-progeny.

At one side the Central government is pulling off the reservation rights of backward classes while on the other side the Gujarat government’s efforts for empowering poor are yielding results, he said.

Chief Minister also urged the religious leaders to begin battle against malnutrition.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
