റയില്‍വേ സ്‌റ്റേഷനിലുള്ള ജീവിതം എന്നെ കുറേ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു. അവയൊക്കെ എന്റെ വ്യക്തിപരമായ സംഘര്‍ഷങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചാണ്. നിങ്ങള്‍ റോയല്‍ പാലസിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പരാമര്‍ശിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ സത്യത്തില്‍ അത് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചായിരുന്നില്ല, 125 കോടി ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനതയെക്കുറിച്ചായിരുന്നു.
‘ബേസബ്രി’ ഒരു മോശം കാര്യമല്ല. സൈക്കിള്‍ സ്വന്തമായി ഉള്ള വ്യക്തി സ്‌കൂട്ടറിന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കും. സ്‌കൂട്ടര്‍ ഉള്ള ആള്‍ കാറിനു മോഹിക്കും. മോഹമെന്നതു സ്വാഭാവികമാണ്. ഇന്ത്യ കൂടുതല്‍ക്കൂടുതല്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുകയാണ്.
സന്തോഷം ഉടലെടുക്കുന്ന നിമിഷത്തില്‍ പിന്നെ ജീവിതം മുന്നോട്ട് പോകില്ല. ഓരോ പ്രായവും, ഓരോ കാലവും എന്തെങ്കിലും പുതുതായി പഠിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള അവസരം നല്‍കും. അനുഭവം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണ്ടത് ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. ഇന്ന് 125 കോടി ജനങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സില്‍ ഒരു പ്രതീക്ഷയും, ആശയും ഉണ്ടെന്നതില്‍ എനിക്ക് സന്തോഷമുണ്ട്.
ചരിത്ര പുസ്തകങ്ങളില്‍ ഇടം നേടുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയല്ല ഞാന്‍ ജനിച്ചത്. രാജ്യത്തെ ഓര്‍ക്കുകയും മോദിയെ മറക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടെല്ലാം ഞാന്‍ അഭ്യര്‍ഥിക്കുകയാണ്. നിങ്ങളെ എല്ലാവരെയും പോലെ ഒരു സാധാരണ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പൗരന്‍ മാത്രമാണു ഞാന്‍.
അതെ; ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ചെയ്യാന്‍ സാധിക്കും എന്ന് അറിയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ജനങ്ങള്‍ ഞങ്ങളില്‍നിന്നു കൂടുതല്‍ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. തങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് ചെവികൊടുക്കുമെന്നു ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അറിയാം.
സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരകാലത്തു മഹാത്മാ ഗാന്ധി വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ചില കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്തു. അദ്ദേഹം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരത്തെ ബഹുജന പ്രസ്ഥാനമാക്കി മാറ്റി. നിങ്ങള്‍ ഓരോരുത്തരും ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യലബ്ധിക്കു സഹായകമാകുമെന്ന് എല്ലാവരോടും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ആവശ്യം വികസനം ബഹുജന പ്രസ്ഥാനമാക്കി മാറ്റുക എന്നതാണ്. പങ്കാളിത്ത ജനാധിപത്യം മികച്ച ഭരണം സാധ്യമാക്കിത്തീര്‍ക്കുന്നു.
ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കുക. മറ്റാരുടെയും ഭൂപ്രദേശം ഇന്ത്യ ഒരിക്കലും ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഒന്നാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധത്തിലും രണ്ടാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധത്തിലും പ്രത്യേക താല്‍പര്യമൊന്നും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും നമ്മുടെ ഭടന്‍മാര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. അതു വലിയ ത്യാഗമായിരുന്നു. ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സംഘടനയുടെ സമാധാന സേനയില്‍ നാം വഹിക്കുന്ന പങ്കു നോക്കൂ.
നാം സമാധാനത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍, ഭീകരവാദത്തെ കടത്തിവിടാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നവരോട് പൊറുക്കില്ല. അവര്‍ക്കു മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന ഭാഷയില്‍ ശക്തമായ മറുപടി നല്‍കും. ഭീകരവാദം ഒരു രീതിയിലും സ്വീകാര്യമല്ല.
ഭീകരവാദത്തെ കടത്തിവിടാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നവരോട് എനിക്കു പറയാനുള്ളത് ഇന്ത്യ മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും അവരുടെ ശ്രമങ്ങള്‍ വച്ചുപൊറുപ്പിക്കില്ല എന്നുമാണ്.
ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അറിയാന്‍ എനിക്കു പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ വായിക്കേണ്ടതില്ല. ഞാന്‍ പട്ടിണിയില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞവനാണ്. എനിക്കറിയാം ദരിദ്രന്റെയും സമൂഹത്തിലെ പിന്നാക്ക വിഭാഗക്കാരുടെയും ജീവിതം എങ്ങനെയാണെന്ന്. ദരിദ്രര്‍ക്കും പാര്‍ശ്വവല്‍ക്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ക്കും അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ക്കും വേണ്ടി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
18,000 ഗ്രാമങ്ങളില്‍ വൈദ്യുതിയില്ല. എത്രയോ സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കു ശൗചാലയ സൗകര്യം ലഭ്യമല്ല. നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തിലെ ഇത്തരം യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്റെ ഉറക്കംകെടുത്തുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ദരിദ്രരുടെ ജീവിതത്തില്‍ സൃഷ്ടിപരമായ മാറ്റം വരുത്തുന്നതിനു പ്രതിജ്ഞാബദ്ധനാണു ഞാന്‍.
ഏതൊരു സാധാരണ പൗരനെയും പോലെയാണു ഞാന്‍. സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ളതു പോലെയുള്ള ന്യൂനതകള്‍ എനിക്കുമുണ്ട്.
നമുക്കു ദശലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും പരിഹരിക്കാന്‍ നൂറുകോടി ജനങ്ങളുണ്ട്.
ലണ്ടനില്‍ ഞാന്‍ ചെയ്യാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളിലൊന്ന് ഭഗവാന്‍ ബസവേശ്വരന് ആദരാഞ്ജലി അര്‍പ്പിക്കാനായിരുന്നു.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ 125 കോടി ജനങ്ങളും എന്റെ കുടുംബമാണ്.
ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിമാര്‍ ഇസ്രായേല്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്നതിന് എന്തായിരുന്നു തടസ്സമായി നിലകൊണ്ടത്? ഞാന്‍ ഇസ്രയേലിലും പോകും; പലസ്തീനിലും പോകും. ഞാന്‍ സൗദി അറേബ്യയുമായുള്ള സഹകരണം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തും; ഇന്ത്യക്ക് ഊര്‍ജം ലഭിക്കാനായി ഇറാനുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
സൃഷ്ടിപരമായ വിമര്‍ശനമില്ലാതെ ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന് വിജയിക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല.
ഈ ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് വിമര്‍ശിക്കപ്പെടണമെന്നു ഞാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. വിമര്‍ശനം ജനാധിപത്യത്തെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
വിമര്‍ശനത്തോട് എനിക്ക് എതിര്‍പ്പില്ല. വിമര്‍ശിക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ ഗവേഷണം നടത്തുകയും വസ്തുതകള്‍ കണ്ടെത്തുകയും വേണം. ദുഃഖകരമെന്നു പറയട്ടെ, അത് ഇപ്പോള്‍ നടക്കുന്നില്ല. പകരം സംഭവിക്കുന്നതാകട്ടെ ആരോപണങ്ങള്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തലാണ്.
