Shri Narendra Modi offers prayers at Ambaji Temple

Ahmedabad, Sunday: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today reviewed the Rs.60-crore development project of the famous Ambaji Temple premises, known as the Shaktipeeth of the Adyashakti, visited by lakhs of pilgrims.

The project included constructing replicas of the 52 Shaktipeeths in India, to evoke the religious fervour of each Peeth. The other feature is the training centre for future priests of other temples in the state.

After offering his prayer at the temple, Mr.Modi saw the presentation on the progress of the project to ensure better facilities for the visitors. He looked forward to completion of the project by February 2014.

The trustees of the temple and the district collector were present on the occasion.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
