With about 200 meetings held across 60 cities, India’s G20 Presidency has truly served as the pinnacle of global diplomacy. Within this framework, PM Modi has not only pivoted India’s G20 Presidency but spearheaded the global diplomatic efforts.
Tony Abbott, Former PM of Australia in this context says he expects PM Modi to be there for a long time to come, adding that through India’s G20 Presidency, the world will get to know him better. Tony Abbott then praised PM Modi’s reputation as a CM who would get the work done and wanted to be closely associated with him. He also appreciated PM Modi’s presence for the G20 Summit in Australia and the subsequent ‘State Visit’ where anywhere he went, he received a welcome that of a ‘Rock Star’.
Tony Abbott stated if the 19th Century was the ‘British Century’ and the 20th Century was the ‘American Century’, and then there is all reason to hope that the 21st Century will be the ‘Indian Century’. He also added if there is to be a leader of the Free World in 50-100 years’ time then the name of Indian Prime Minister would definitely feature on it.
"I look forward to seeing Narendra Modi's continued leadership for years to come. The #G20India Summit presents an opportunity for the global community to know him better."
